A small fair, standing no more than five feet, peeked over the side of a boulder she happened to be hiding behind. With a quick sniff and a jittery glance around, Twitch began to move out from behind the rock. She squeaked when a bird called from the trees, and dived back behind her rock, taking a moment to recover herself.
After repeating this process three times, Twitch finally made it to the edge of the pond. She stayed near the waterfall incase she needed to go behind it and hide, and was constantly watching the edge of the forest. Her eye twitched often, giving her the appearance of someone quite insane. Many thought she was. But if this was the case, then Twitch had every right to be. With constant visions of violence and terror, the former Larien had been reduced to a nervous, fidgeting wreck, hence the name Twitch.
After a quick drink of water, Twitch scrambled back to the rock and lay next to it to rest.

I couldn't help it. A small smile crossed my face as I saw the fairy's neurotic behavior, and I contained a giggle. It was sort of adorable, but to Cat, it simply looked appetizing.
The large tabby growled luxuriously, creeping forward on his forepaws. I probably should have stopped him, as I had more than enough reason to believe that the small creature that was to become his new play thing was awfully skittish and she probably wouldn't understand the fact that he wouldn't harm her.
I was distracted, though, by the gentle flop of a fish jumping out of the cool water for a moment to snack on a buzzing fly. I lazily strolled over to the clear water to quench my thirst, cupping it into my palm and sipping it from my hand. I glanced behind me for a moment to see Cat simply staring at the resting fairy woman, not making any moves.

Twitch saw a furry critter staring at her, and stared right back. Her eye twitched slightly but otherwise she was still. Perhaps it really was just a cat. Perhaps not. It was not an impossible idea for a being to be able to shape-shift into a feline, even this simple tabby.
But something else grabbed hold of Twitch. Her eyes went glassy and her expression blank as the familiar sensation of an oncoming vision took hold. She sat perfecting still as the vision appeared in her eyes, and watched as the vision, all in an eery green light, showed... her. Somebody was watching her, but it was the wrong angle to be the cat. Someone else was here.
Quickly the vision ended, and once Twitch regained control she dove back behind the rock with a twitching lip and scanned around the place where the angle would have fit. She didn't have to look long. The accused was walking to the edge of the pool, and then took a long drink of water. Twitch stayed behind her rock, although she knew the other creature was already aware of her.
*I know this is the wrong account, but just pretend like it's Twitch's.

My brow rose as I saw the small fairy dart behind a rock. Trying to calm her down might have been the most frequent reaction, but I only shrugged, turning around to walk towards the rock and pick Cat up. The fairy certainly wasn't my problem. He snarled his disappointment, squirming in my arms for a moment.
But I recklessly dropped him as I heard a rustle in the leaves surrounding us. Cat quickly trotted back over to the rock, pausing five feet away to flatten himself to the ground and creep forward.
There was the rustling again. Closer this time. My mind began cranking out worse case scenarios; a group of gutons, maybe. Perhaps an assalon. Or even a Braton.

Twitch was uncharacteristically quiet when she heard the sounds in the forest. She knew that if she made a wrong move, it could be dangerous. A vision hit her again, and this time she was seeing through the eyes of something else, and it was much higher off the ground. The creature growled as it watched the cat and its owner before lowering to the ground.
Assalon, thought Twitch, coming back from the vision. She poked her head over the rock and shuddered as she looked past the cat's owner into the trees, but she didn't she anything. She never really expected to--there was no way an Assalon could be seen if it didn't want to, at least not in the forest.
Twitch shuddered again and opened her mouth to yell to the other person, but couldn't find the words. They died in her mouth as she saw movement in the canopy, and she squeaked helplessly.

My eyes narrowed as I tried to pick out things out of the ordinary in the surrounding forest foliage. I heard the peep from the fairy woman and glanced behind me to be sure Cat wasn't batting at her with one of his oversized paws. But he was wearily eyeing the forest just as I would; it was then I knew something was wrong.
Taking a deep breath, I slowly took a step back. Another step. I knew running would do next to no good. Hiding probably wouldn't help either.
I slipped a hand behind my back and formed a fire ball as a precaution. I'm not sure if the assalon either smelled the fire or heard the small fizzle that accompanied it, but it suddenly lunged out of the trees, roaring angrily.
I threw the fire, though it did little but singe the monster's hair and scorch the skin underneath. Cat hissed and darted off, though in what direction I couldn't tell. "Cat!" I yelped after him, turning around.
Stupid move. The assalon drew back one of its mighty legs and swiped a clawed foot across my back, knocking me down.
