Guy Fawkes stood up and said, "Lets walk through the city. It's been a while since I've been able to just enjoy a place without needing to do any work."

Krake nodded and stood up, wiping a few crumbs off his shirt and wings. "Indeed." Walking up to the door he held it open for Guy, ignoring the drunken stares from the other occupants of the pub.

Guy walked through the door, nodding his head in thanks to Krake for holding the door. He quickly surveyed the streets and began to walk in no one particular direction. Many of the shops were still the same from when he had traveled with his father, and many of them still knew him here. He liked antiques, magical items, and anything odd or eccentric looking. He found his feet taking him towards the hat shop where he had found his well worn and eccentric black hat. He turned around and looked at Krake as he said, "I wonder if he has any new hats..." He toyed with the dragon heart necklace that he now wore constantly around his neck. It had belonged to his sister a long time ago.

Krake followed Guy out of the diner, giving a quick half streatch to his wings. If he stretched them all the way, his 12 foot wingspan would certainly attract unwanted attention. Trailing slightly behind the older man, he was led to a hat shop, presumably the one from his earlier story.
Walking inside, he was greeted by hats of all sorts. Top hats, Feathered hats, striped hats-you get the idea. He saw a paticular instresting looking hat, a simple design with what seemed to be a red ball attached to the side. Looking closely at hit, he soflty touched it with his hand-to feel the texture-and was unpleasantly surprized when the 'ball' stretched out into a long feather. It startled him so bad he let out a good yelp and fell back, knocking over a rack of hats with his wings.

Guy watched Krake with an amused smile on his face as he looked at the wide variety of hats in the store. Yes it was the very same store where he had found his eccentric hat. He laughed a hearty laugh when Krake knocked over the display of hats as he was startled by the feathered hat. "You get used to anything from the magical to the outrageous to the just plain bizarre when you hang out with me," He said as he continued to laugh. The look on Krake's face was priceless, and Guido was soon reduced to a shaking human lying on the floor laughing. After a few minuets, he finally regained his composure, stood up and said, "I haven't laughed like that in years...."

Krake scowled at Guys laugh, turning away to cover the blush on his cheeks. He hated when he made a fool of himself, and better yet this time it was in front of a dragon who was older and wiser than him! He could just imagine how stupid Guy thought he was right now.
He could feel the angry eyes of the shopkeeper on his back as he set the rack right and started placing hats back on the shelves. He set the last hat on the rack and took a step back, scurrying back to stand next to Guy, hoping no other hats would leap out and attack him.

Guy straightened his coat and looked at Krake. "It's quite alright," he said to the embarrassed dragon. "Years from now, you'll be laughing about this. The hats won't hurt you..." He had an amused look on his face as he looked around at the hats. Nothing as eccentric as his hat, although the one that had startled Krake came pretty close to it. He walked over to the shop keeper and said, "Hello Sven. It's me, Guido Fawkes, or don't you remember me?" Sven's jaw dropped as he looked up at Guido. "You got taller," he muttered. "I remember when you were a wee lad.... What have you been up to lately?" "Being a bit of a rouge and guarding caravans, and the occasional job as a body guard. This is a new aquantance of mine. His name's Krake. Don't be to angry with him, he's new to the insane things that happen around here." He motioned for Krake to come over to the counter. "Krake, this is my good friend Sven."

"Sorry about your hats Sven..." Krake said, giving a small glance back at the rack, mentally wincing at the sight of disarray on the shelves.
Turning back to the two older men, he walked over the counter and gave a small bow to the man, hoping he wasn't too sore about his hats. 'Aquantance eh?' He thought, feeling slightly sad that Guy, who seemed to be pretty well known, thought of him as nothing more than another dragon on the road. Pulling it together he gave a stiff look around the shop, he gave a dry laugh. "I would look around more, but next time it might have teeth..." He tightned each hand into a fist before stretching his fingers, hopefully he'd still have 10 by the time this was over.

Guido looked over at him and said, "None of these hats have teeth, at least not that I know of. Am I right Sven?" Sven laughed and said, "No teeth in these hats. Hey Guido, wasn't that the necklace you bought for your sister Leana Marie? I haven't seen her in years. How is she?" Guy's face grew pale at the mention of Leana. Did he really not know her sad fate. "She... she died a long time ago..." Sven looked down at his hands. "I'm sorry about that, didn't mean to pry... And what about you young man? How did you wind up traveling with this rouge? He'll be calling you friend once he gets to know you," Sven said as he tried to change the topic.

Krake watched the pain on Guy's face. 'His sister died?'' He never knew what it felt like to lose a family member, seeing as he didn't ever know one. He took a quick glance at the pendant which hung around his neck. Pretty.
Giving a nod in acknowledgement to Sven, he answered, "We just met in the diner down the road, decided to go on a walk." Giving another glance at Guy, "You know, seeing on how pretty that necklace is, it must have been nothing compared to her..." He hoped it would cheer him up, instead f twisting him farther into memories.

Guy hoped that the topic would remain off of his family, that Sven wouldn't ask about the rest of his family until they could talk in private. He didn't want to tell Krake what had befallen his family, at least not right now. "She was beautiful," he said as he looked down at the heart of the dragon necklace. "Her hair was a deep auburn, almost fiery red. Her eyes were the deepest emerald green you will ever see. Her skin was fair, but not pale." His eyes misted over, not with tears, just with a distant look in his eyes, that said he was no longer focused on what was going on; he was having a flashback. He remembered her look of surprise on her sixteenth birthday when she had opened her eyes to see that he had put the necklace around her neck. He was standing behind her with his hands on her shoulder, smiling at her reflection in the mirror. "I don't know what I'll do to the lads when they come calling to court my little sister," he said. She'd turned around and hugged him, "It's beautiful Guido, and I'm sure you'll do just fine when they come calling." He'd kissed her forehead and looked down at her, "If they hurt you, they'll have me to contend with." She'd laughed. He never did find out how he would react if someone came asking to court his sister, she'd died only a few short years later, or was it months? He was now having trouble remembering exactly how old she'd been when she'd died.

He mentally slapped himself when Guy's eyes glazed over with memories past. Never having to deal with sad people, growing up alone never taught him to show emotions, and he wasn't sure how to fix his mistake. Krake took one hand, and uneasily put it on one shoulder. "Your very lucky, to still have memories of family. Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all." Krake adored that saying, being something that held true in his mind.

Guy smiled ruefully as he heard Krake. "Yes, but some days you wish you could only remember the happy times, and then there are days you wish they were still here. But time goes on, and you learn to move on. I still miss them, but I can now look back without being lost to the grief, though I still feel the pain of the loss. It was a happy memory from years gone by. We'd been joking about how I would eat whoever came courting her..." He chuckled. "I still remember her laugh, sweet and clear like a meadow lark."

This guy was a philosopher. No doubt about it. He let out a short sigh and turned his gaze onto the pendant hanging around the pale throat of Guy.
His red eyes flicked up to Guys face, hoping that it wouldn't be in a position of hurting. A dry chuckle came from the older male, and he imagined a young woman with red hair and a laugh which sounded light and airy.
Giving a shake to his head, his messy black hair falling into his crimson eyes. He wondered back to his own family, breifly contemplating if any of Guido's family would know his own parents. He would probably never find out, not having a name or a face to match to family. The word was foreign to him. It didn't matter anyway...

Sven shook his head and chuckled. "I still say he's a romantic at heart. Get behind that outrageous hat and his roguish appearance, and he's a softy. Next thing you know he'll be quoting Shakespeare!" Guy glanced over at Sven and said, "Now what's wrong with Shakespeare?" "Nothing, I just surprised you're still single." Guy looked at him and said, "I don't see why that is your concern.." Sven just laughed. Guy looked at Sven and said, "Don't start playing match maker again, that last attempt was a disaster." It was really nothing more than ridiculous banter between good friends, but that last attempt at match making really had been a disaster.
