Soji moved with incredible grace as she moved over walls and past guards. She had been assigned by some greedy bastard to steal something or another... She didn't remember what it was... She would look at the orders when she was in a safer place. She ran, croached down, through the halls of the royal castle, sneaking past guards and other people that roamed the halls. She finally came to a long hall where a guard was patrolling, he walked from one end of the hall to another, quite a bit more vigilant than the others, he watched all around him... Quite a shame that he was impedeing her progress... Her eyes flashed yellow as she raced across the hall as soon as he passed her hiding spot and climbed the wall with a few quick steps. She hid in the raftors untill the guard passed under her. She dropped down and grabbed onto the back of the man's collar, shoving a long spike into the back of his head, shoving all the way through to cause a bump to appear in his forhead, she pulled him down ontop of her as she went down and layed him down carefully, so not to cause any unneeded sound. She continued through the halls, hopeing for no more disruptions...

Sneaky little witch, isn't she?
My demon quipped, his voice floating through my head like a bad melody. He'd been rather talkative of late, and I wasn't sure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. I didn't mind the fact he was acting civilized and all, but it disturbed greatly. Especially when I was in the middle of following someone, like now. The dark, misty voice almost made me fall out of the shadows and right into her path.
Would you shut-up already?
I replied to him, but he ignored me. Jerk.
Well, that wasn't very nice.
I remarked, leaping from a small alcove off to the side. The place wasn't large enough to conceal a full-grown man, or elf, as it was, but that posed no problem to me. Not when I could so easily merge with the shadows.
I would have given her a wide smile, if there hadn't been a mask in the way, So, instead, I stared her down, waiting for her move.

Soji sighed and looked at the man, her eyes flat and bored. "I wanted to keep the body count low..." She muttered. Keeeping the death toll to a minimum was not something she was good at, so when she tried, it tended to be a very good thing... She pulled the giant war hammer on her back off and twirled it. "Well, you gunna stay quiet and let me get on my job, or are you gunna try and stop me? Better yet, you could help me..." She said, twirling the hammer again. She could use some help with getting through this big place... She waited for the man's answer...

Help her? Now, that was an idea. Seriously, it intrigued me more then I wanted to admit. I could almost feel my inner demon drooling over the thought. There was nothing he loved more then wicked behavior and betrayal. Kind of made me the perfect choice, with my long history of being a traitor, hu?
I glanced around, different thoughts and morals fogging my mind as I tried to reason this out. How much did loyalty matter to me? I'd only been with the Queen's army a short time, after all. Would they really miss me if I left now?
Mirage would be disappointed.
Mirage?! Who cares about her?!
My demon's screams caused me to cringe. He sounded desperate.
That depends, what are you stealing?

Soji blinked a couple of times before reaching into the pocket of her over coat and pulling out a large scroll. "There is a large cashe of diamonds and other precious jewls, I'm supposed to steal an exseptionally large diamond and do what I wish with the rest... I plan to steal the good Queen blind, to tell the truth." She said, a wide smile gracing her twelve year old face as she slid the scroll back in her pocket. "I'll split the jewls with you fourty sixety if you help." She said, still smileing.

OK, here's the plan; follow her lead, but once you get the jewels, kill her, ok?
Well aren't you a frickin' genius. A ten year old could have figured that out. Heck, she's twelve, and I'm sure she's already thinking about doing that. Here's a better idea; we tag along, take a few of the jewels, then turn her in an get a reward.
I shook my head in disbelief as I realized I was actually conversing with my little intruder now. Heck, I was discussing plans with him.
... Talking with your inner demon doesn't make you schizophrenic, does it?
Huh, alright.
I finally managed to choke out.

Soji's dark side was having the same thoughts as Daemon's little friend. Kill the bastard as soon as you get there, use him for grunt work in the mean time... She thought, putting the hammer back on her back. Soji looked up at Daemon with her pale blue eyes and smiled. "Let's go!" She said, trotting off towards a door that was marked on the scroll.

.. lead the way.
I quipped as she marched passed, falling in reluctant step behind her. It was a bit awkward, you know, following such a young girl like this. IT almost felt wrong. Shouldn't I have been giving her some talk about how stealing was wrong and what not? I didn't, though, because I understood. I knew why one could kill at so young. Yeah, after all, I killed my first person at age five. I'd had a good reason, though
Just... try not to kill to many people, ok?

Soji smiled and looked back. "I don't like to hurt people, hate it, as a matter of fact! It's the other me that kills people for fun!" She said, instantly slapping her hand over her mouth, people weren't supposed to know about the other Soji! Oh well, it was said and done... "Nice to meet ya, punk!" She yelled, the other, more... insane Soji taking over. "I'm Soji two! Or something like that..." She said, looking back at him with her litted yellow eyes. She let the real Soji take back over, her eyes turning pale blue again. "Sorry, she does that sometimes..." She muttered, rubbing the back of her head.

My first reaction was something like "By the gods, someone like me!"
You're an idiot, she's nothing like you.
I didn't bother to reply to him, keeping my thoughts to myself. I sent a few obscenities his way, but turned my attention back to the girl.
Well, that's gotta suck a little. How that, you know, happen, if you don't mind me asking?
I remarked, my curious side taking over. I was slowly forgetting I was helping a young girl infiltrate my Queen's castle to steal from her, and at any moment one of my friends might walk around the corner and discover my betrayal. Well, not friends. Didn't have any of those here. More like... companions.

Soji coughed and looked back at him. "Just born like this, she woke up when i was... six? Yeah, that sounds right, we traveled the world, you know... I've been to more places than I can count..." She said, thinking back. "I came back about a year ago, looking to settle down again, for a little while at least! But my house, family, even my entire village was gone, been looking for them ever since!" She said, opening a door and walking trough, the map said that they should be there soon...

That's unfortunate.
I wasn't sure which I was referring to, the second Soji just "waking up," or the disappearing village, but I figured both deserved the sympathy the phrase offered.
I smiled to myself for some reason. I was actually starting to like this girl. It had been my fortune, or maybe, misfortune, to meat of sorts of unique and interesting girls in my life. So far Soji was pretty high up on the "unique" list. But that's what made life interesting, right? The gods help us if everyone was exactly the same.
Hey, hold up a sec, I think I hear something...
I whispered, reaching forward to grab her shirt and pull her against the wall.

Soji flattened herself and drew one of her broad swords. She hated for people to get hurt, but if she got to eat and live another day, she would let the other Soji wake up. "Where are they?" She asked, her eyes turning a ferocious yellow, the pupals slitted like a cats.

I noted the change in eye color unhappily. The last thing I wanted was for another one of my comrades to get hurt. I could hear the footsteps around the corner, coming closer and closer. I didn't bode well right now.
Just d- I mean, ugh, dang it...
I growled, digging my nails into the unyielding stone wall. I glanced around nervously, cringing as soldier came around the corner and walked right into us.
Oh, Daemon! It's good to.. uh, who's this?
The soldier remarked cheerfully, smiling innocently at Soji. I knew him well, he was as close to a friend as I had here in the Castle. He was young, and his name was Ere. And he trusted me, dang it...

Soji's eyes instsantly flickered blue again and her sword was in it's sheath as soon as she saw Daemon's reaction. "Hi! I'm Soji! I'm his friend from when I was little! Are you his friend too? I wanna be your friend to! I like to make friends!" She said all of this very fast, like an exited kid in a candy store. Soji was always very good at tricking people into thinking she was just a hyper little kid...
