Heulandite had been less than successful. After Nuallan listening for news of Mirage for a week and hearing not a word, he had gotten impatient and followed a man home during the night, thinking that perhaps if he caught him alone, he might be able to threaten some information out of him. Suddenly, though, the man turned around and started running toward him wildly, a sword in hand. Nuallan had won the fight without too much of a struggle and, before finally killing the man, had managed to discover that Mirage wasn't residing in Heulandite.
That left the Royal City. This was the perfect place to get killed, he knew, especially for a Blood Member such as himself. And yet he had already heard several whispers of Mirage's name, along with the mention of "saw her at..." The issuer of this valuable news had been cut off as his friend started talking over him, but that much didn't matter; at least he knew that Mirage was in the Royal City.
Now if only the Royal City wasn't so big. Nuallan had a plan, and although he wasn't positive of its rate of success, it had to take place at a bar. In his hand was a map he had purchased, outlined with his own personal notes. And every bar location was circled in red.
There were a lot of red circles, unfortunately. He had to start somewhere, though, and so he neatly folded the map, slipped it in his pocket, ruffled his hair, tore a couple of rips in his shirt, and was ready for action. He sprinted into the Broken Bottle Tavern, breathing heavily for theatrical effect. "I need... help!" he gasped. "Wife... two kids... in the barn, being held captive by... by Blood Members!" There was a murmur of surprise, and most of the faces Nuallan turned his desperate gaze upon were sympathetic. A few, however, were skeptical.
He tried his hardest to spot the woman he was looking for. There were several women, and he didn't have a very precise image of Mirage in his mind. In fact, one might even say he didn't have any idea what she looked like at all, if they had a "glass half empty" outlook on life. He was still expected to find her, though, so Nuallan simply kept his eye out for any extremely dangerous women sauntering around.
