Soren rolled off of her with a slight groan and looked up in half a daze. Then, his wits snapped back and he hopped to his feet.

Mirage stood up, brushed herself off, pulled the rope free, and headed towards the stables. She soon found her horse and saddle. The horse shied away, then she became visible again, and the horse calmed down. "Soren, do you have a horse?"

Soren shook his head. "No, I usually travel on foot."

You'll be going nowhere. I cut in, standing at the far end of the stables. It would have been wiser to remain quiet and sneak up on the pair, taking them out without a fuss. But even I cannot not resist the chance to make an entrance. Dramatics are best for situations in which you are confident of your victory. To me, a barn surrounded by my own men seemed to solidify that victory.
Feel free to try and escape, though. I believe my men have underestimated you before now, but I assure you I don't make those kinds of mistakes. I smirked, drawing out my blade. The poetic musing I comfort myself with seemed to have slipped beyond grasp, pushed aside to reveal the bare, raw nature of violence and cruelty that slept at my core. I didn't care for the touch of the moon, or the mist of the night. They faded away to allow me to focus.
Mirage, by the order of Waefae, I am here to eliminate you. I glanced at her companion, and those who stand beside you.

Mirage dismounted and drew her sword. She slowly approached the strange figure, and could now see that the form was that of a woman's. She stopped halfway between Soren and the stranger. Any thoughts of ordering Soren to mount and ride away fled as she could hear the others outside. "Soren, stay where you are," Mirage ordered. "I'll deal with this." She slowly approached, sizing up her opponent. She knew better than to underestimate any of Waefae's servants. She began circling, the other woman would have to make the first move. "Who are you?" Mirage asked as she continued to circle. Those lavender eyes looked like her brother's, and the lady made her uneasy.

Soren was a little hesitant to let Mirage confront the shady character alone. However, by her wishes, he remained where he was, wary of other threatening company surrounding them.
