Snowflakes gently touch my eyelashes and make me brush them away with the back of my hand. Such silence here, as if the place is dead. Decieving, to most. But there are scents here, most long gone, but some fresher. Human. Mortal. It makes the corner of my mouth twitch into a small smile. But, something else. Something horrid, coming from the glassy lake at my left. Staring at the mirrored water, I step slowly away from it, slipping a small blade out of the sheath. My eyes follow a ripple up toward the other bank, and then to a building, carved into the side of the mountain. I hadn't seen that before. Cautiously, I walk around it, stand in front of the stone pillars and piles of rock half-piled in banks of white. I sheath the knife, take a couple steps forward. There have been people here, recently. I press my mortal hand to the cold stone, finding it only slightly colder than my own icy skin. I press on it, and the dorr does not move. Odd.

You won't be getting in that way, I'm afraid.
I remarked, probably a stupid idea. For all I knew, he'd come here to assassinate me, and I'd just announced myself. And there was no chance, if he was here to kill me, he'd mistake me as someone else. You want me to kill someone? What's he look like? Easy; tall, abnormally long and pointy ears, and blue hair. ... blue hair? Freak.
Reality check here, Kal. Person, possible dangerous. NO time to imagine your own humiliating scenarios. Besides, if you're making fun of someone, it's not supposed to be yourself. Get it straight.
I shut my book, gathered snowflakes fluttering out between the pages. It made me wonder exactly how long I'd been out here, if the pages were so cold they didn't even melt the snowflakes anymore. My time could have been spent on more useful things, instead of reading this.... this amazingly helpful junk. The junk i'd come to call my "World Domination" book.
Rule #34: World domination is not a smart choice for the goal of your organization. et creative, would you?
Yup, always listen to the book.
Now... what had just happened? Right, guy... assassination... door... ok, ok, got.
Would you like some assistance, or are you just exploring?
I finally remarked, tucking my book into the satchel slung around me. I sat above the door way, slate blue hair freckled with snowflakes, and resting atop a bare stone, imagining my butt to be throughly frozen to the thing by now. I'd got stuck on guard duty. How wrong is that? The leader being the guard. But really, I only complain because I can, I actually enjoined the job. Anything to get me outside.

I whirl, my eyes fierce and my muscles taut as a bowstring. Wind tosses my thick, tightly curled hair and ruffles the fur on my coat.
"Assistance?"
I laugh a bit, the sound hollow and lack of humor, then shake my head.
"No, no. Just... exploring."
The ghost of a smile plays on my lips for a moment, makes even me wonder if it was there.
"I heard there were... warriors of a sort here."
I say after a while, my eyes never leaving his face. My voice is cold and clear, carefully detatched, and yet... interested, yes that is the word.
Oh, yes, he must know something. No man in their right mind would be just... sitting out here. Not with nightfall, anyway.

... Warriors? Interesting. I wouldn't consider my ragtag group very warrior like, but then I didn't know what kind of rumors were being spread. For all I knew, we were the supposed brings of the apocalypses. Publicity was good and all, but the kind we were getting was really starting to screw up my plans.
Well, that's a funny thing to say. Not much more then snow up here. Who told you that?
I remarked, motioning around myself as I stood up with some effort. My eyes strayed up to the clouds for a moment, staring them down. I hated clouds. And I hated snow, but here I was standing out in it conversing with... the gods only know who. Someone who seemed as cold as this snow, that's who.

"I hear things, in taverns and such."
Another short, humorless smile. This man has a kind of... aura, one that demands respect. And I give him that, in an almost perverse way. I look around, at the snow at first, then the sky. Finally back at him.
"And there are signs everywhere. Scents, mostly. Tracks. And I can hear more heartbeats than yours and mine."
Scare him, good job. This is not going to work if you keep playing angel of death, you know that Kazeielan. Tone it down, stop being so defensive.
"But I want to join. I can fight, and I know how to heal, though I am sure you have healers as it is."
Oh, yes, not even give him your name and expect to be allowed to join them. Wonderful job, Kazeielan. Wonderful. I beat myself for it, over and over, but wait, albiet impatiently.

... Heh. That wasn't a terribly expected reply, and being such it brought a raised eyebrow from me. But I quickly returned the runaway eyebrow to its former position, slowly picking my way down to his level.
Well... seems like you got quite an array or tricks and talents there, mister.
I replied, jumping off the last stone and landing in a flurry of snow. Probably didn't look half as cool as how I wanted it to, but oh well.
But before we just jump into this, maybe we should start off with the basics. Like... you name, for one thing. And a little about you. I don't exactly want to let spies in.
... I just gave away the fact I was the leader, didn't I? Or, I at least let on that I held a position of power. Good job, genius. Why don't you just stick a neon pink flag on the mountain, jump around in a dress, and declare "Oh, gee, lookit! I'm the Grey Company Leader! Come infiltrate us and slaughter us in our sleep!"

I incline my head in a sort-of half bow. So. He is the leader.
"Forgive me for not introducing myself sooner. My name is Kazeielan,"
I pause for a moment. How much does he want to hear about me? I am sure that most of my history did not exactly give me the... credentials... to be in any sort of group. Should I lie, then? Gods, no. I am sick of lying.
"I was born before the beginning of Forste, and I was there at its fall. I will admit that I helped tear down the king's rule, though it was not in the most... honorable way I could have done."
The corner of my mouth pulls into a twisted, maybe maniac smile. Almost like my killing grin. And then I let the smile fade, wondering whether or not that was enough. I hope that it was, because I truly do not like to say so much about myself. It is not because of any... humility, but because of my secrecy, my deception of the world that lets me survive.

Kazeielan? Well, that's a mouthful. Let's call you Kaz' for short.
I remarked, sitting myself down on another cold, hard stone. I promptly slid off, cracking my back on it. Real smooth.. Erm, no pun intended.
Erecting myself and sitting carefully down, I looked Kaz in the eye. I'd read that that was important to do, that would could tell a lot by how someone's eyes looked. I wasn't totally sure if it actually, worked, but I was already to the point of desperation. The Grey Company was like a small child, and each new member was a new year of experience.
I bit my lip, thinking through my own analogy a bit more. Eventually, wouldn't the Grey Company have enough years of experience to grow up and move out? Where did that leave me?
I didn't know, but I reminded myself forcefully this was actually about me, it was about the cause, and about he man, or... whatever her was , sitting before me.
Forste, you say...
I remarked, motioning for him to sit... somewhere.
Forste.. Forste... my knowledge of it was pathetically limited. Anon had been giving me lessons about he history of Forinasi, since I never actually grew up here, but... I wasn't exactly a model student. It's a good thing I can't get punished for spit balls.
I don't suppose you have anything like a reference...

I chuckle a bit and shake my head.
"No, not really."
Calmly, I sit down on a rock across from him, still holding his gaze. What could he be possibly searching for? I know of mind-readers, and I start throwing up guards around everything, almost frantically. But then I realize, if I wanted in here, how much would I have to let him see?
"Of course, not unless you want to go and ask every lowlife in town that has wanted someone assassinated."
I say it with a dark laugh, as if it holds some kind of mild humor for me. It does, but I am sure my... morbidity is heloing my case none.
" I apologize. My ways have not all been... perfectly... sinless."
I dip my head in a short sort of bow, again, the biggest show of respect anyone will ever really get from me.

Whoever believes his life has been sinless is living a lie.
I remarked with a light laugh, feeling myself relax a little more. I wasn't sure if it was because I wanted him to relax, or if the conversation was helping me relax. I knew almost nothing about this man, but each moment I spent with him, the more I felt like I could trust him.
Or maybe I had just eaten too many unidentified food item recently, and it was starting to effect my head.
Well, that's alright, anyway. The Grey Company has got standards, but they aren't very high.
... I just insulted him, didn't I?
Eh, but, but, I mean, like... I'm not saying, I didn't...
I rubbed my temple, feelings like burrowing my head in the snow.

I nod a smile, laughing a bit, and hold up a thin hand.
"I understand your intent. Do not worry; I am not offended. "
I shift my meager weight atop the rock, push my coat away from my hip. I note now how long it has been since I have last eaten. I suppose hunger is not one of the things that I often think about anymore. Nevertheless, my hip bones are becoming evident again.
"What, exactly, are your standards? I will know, maybe, if there is anything that I must do to... ah... qualify... "

ooc: meh, screw it, it's finished enough
.. Standards? Had I said something about standards? I had, hadn't I? Dang, I knew I should have had Anon write something up for me, but no, he had insisted that it was my job to think up stuff like that. Why was it I had to do everything around here, hm? What use was it to have an army of minions (no matter how small said army is) when you can't even get them to make up a few rules? This was going to take some quick thinking... and maybe a little cheating.

OOC: If you want to me hold this post off until you finish yours just let me know. XD I wam just bored and wanted to post places.
Jayden walked along the path that was leading her no where in particular. The light dusting of snow that fell upon her cloaked shoulders did not bother her much as she continued on her walk. Her mind was elsewhere as her walking slowed near a ruin. Her eyes jutted back and forth looking to the structure for any sign of life.
She had to doubletake, there, next to the archway that hung from the mountain, was two men. One looked of elven decent and the other a human. She halted her walking, decided whether or not to approach the two. She thought on this for a moment before continueing on towards them.
When she got close enough too them she could take a better look, one, the elf, with blueish hair, and the other, human, had long crimson hair, slightly darker than hers. As she took a step closer she gasped softly, her gasp was almost inaudible, but it was there, this man, this human was not human at all, he was an immortal. She could feel his aura pulsating from him.
She closed her icy eyes momentarily and then looked from the elven man to the immortal. She let a soft smirk play on her lips, though her face was sheilded in the shadow of her hood her eyes seemed to pierce that darkness. [/size] "Am I interupting anything?" She said calmly, her voice was cold yet it held a smoothness to it, as if pouring warm honey out of a jar. Her icy voice matchedh er eyes as she looked on at both of the men.

A blade is in my hand, my lips pulled back from my teeth before I can control my self-preserving instincts. If my control were not at the level that it is, then I think her blood would have been spilt before she knew whose knife slit her throat.
"You would do well not to sneak up on people," I say with a snarl. Why did I not hear her? Surely I would have heard her heart. I should have. The wind shifts my hair toward her. That is why. I condemn the wind before I shove the blade back in the sheath in my boot.

She felt a smirk play on her lips as she flet his anger rise and heard the noise of the blade leaving the sheath. She kept her icy eyes on him, he intrigued her, the darkness in him, she shadows in his aura, inticing her to learn more about this immortal.
She felt her smirk grow as she heard his words coming in the form of a growl. "If I were infact sneaking, you would not know of my presense here right now..." She said simply, and it was a fact, as the daughter of a Shade and a Lux Vampire, she was skilled at sneaking and staying out of the way, her agility was her most favorite atribute, that, and her sadisitc love for murder and torture...
