The flirtatious man went back to his conversation, for which Kasanda was thankful. Instead, her gaze fell on Cat, who was now approaching a stranger with an uncomfortable lack of caution. Kasanda's stomach churned; needless to say, she didn't trust strangers. After all, only fools trusted people they didn't know.
Cat, however, saw no problem as the woman slid her cup forward with apparent ease. He tentatively sniffed the steam rising from the liquid, then proceeded to dip his nose into the tea. With a start, Cat shot up, sneezing profusely and licking his burnt nose with irritation. No, he didn't like tea, much. Instead, he took more interest in the woman's fingers, which she had stretched in front of her for him to sniff. She smelled rather different than Kasanda, and his cold nose dabbed across her fingers as he tried to identify the scent.
Kasanda watched with wary eyes, and only gave a tight nod as the woman offered a small smile. From what she could see, Cat was safe, she reasoned as she tapped her fingers apprehensively. Reluctantly, she tore her eyes away to pay attention to her drink, putting her faith in Cat's instincts.

A rush of cold air blew into the tavern as Evylyn pushed the door open. It caused her cloak to come up a bit, so she kept her hands by her side, not wanting the cloak to reveal too much skin. She was still new to this whole area; she had arrived only about a week and a half ago. Evylyn was still confused about what to do in this new land, so having another's opinions would certainly help her decide on what to do next.
As her sparkling blue eyes wandered across the tavern, she saw multiple people sitting in the chairs and having a drink. Not many chairs were left, and as soon as she saw an open chair, it got taken by a rather rotund man. She let out a long, drawn out sigh as she rolled her eyes, and she then pattered over to the bar and decided that she would stand up the whole time.
She wasn't in the mood for alcohol at the moment, but she just wanted anything that would satisfy her thirst. Trying to get the bartender's attention, she repeatedly slapped her hand against the table, failing to grasp his attention. The bartender was trying to flirt with one of the women sitting by the bar, and Evylyn rolled her eyes again as he ignored her. "What the hell do I have to do to get a drink...?!" she sternly muttered under her breath through clenched teeth. "Take off my clothes?"

I perked up as faint words about clothes drifted to my ears, and I could here my demon companion groan inside my head. With a smile I glanced at the flirting bar tender, and then to the girl who lacked a drink. It was almost like the gods had purposefully set this up for me.
Trying to remain inconspicuous, I stood up slowly, eyes darting around, and leaped over the bar, using one hand as leverage. The bartender's eyes widened as I landed on the other side, but apparently our earlier encounter had left a lasting impression, since he didn't argue. What luck.
I stood up, leaning on the bar directly across from Mirage and Kaze.
If you'll excuse me, I think I'll leave you two to talk amongst yourselves while I... well... never mind, just start talking.
I remarked, smiling and sliding over to the newcomer. I gave Kasanda a mock salute as I passed, but she was quickly forgotten as I reached my destination. The new girl... or should I say customer?
Hello, there. M'names Daemon and I'll be your lovely bartender tonight. May I get you something?

I tried to fight back a smile as I saw an elf hop over the bar and walk over to me, but I lost the fight, and I couldn't hold it back. With a smile still on my face, I playfully raised my eyebrow as if I was asking him what he was doing. I resisted the urge to put my eyes on his, so I let them rest on his neck, not really wanting to spy on him at the moment.
He obviously looked like he was interested in meeting me, but I decided that I wouldn't give out any info yet. "Well Daemon, I guess I'll be your lovely customer tonight. I'll have anything, really, just something that won't make me incredibly drunk," I replied with a slight laugh. I had no intention of goofing around all of these strangers. I wanted to make a decent first impression, even if I would never see these people again.
My eyes then wandered away from the new man before me, and I looked around the room once more. I spotted Jade in one corner, and I saw her taking up two seats. Ha..perfect. Oh well, I'll either just stand here or sit on the bar if I'm tired. Sitting on the bar didn't seem like such a bad thing, especially if there were no seats available, but I was going to do it once my legs ached with pain.

My smile widened. I'd finally gotten a girl to talk to me. Now all I had to do was give her a drink and strike up a conversation...
Right.
I ducked under the counter, grabbing at any glass or bottle I could find as I scanned the back shelves. There seemed to be a pleasantly wide array of drinks and beverages I'd never heard of, let alone new how much alcohol was in them. This had the potential for a major screw up on my part.
I popped back up, dropping an array of glasses on the table, and ducked back down leaning against the bar and banging my head against a hard object which I didn't bother to identify. I had to think fast. Should I guess, should I.... should I... that bartender! Genius!
A small stone flew across the room, hitting the bartender int he head. He blink, but didn't budge, keeping his sickly sweet smile on as he ogled the girl across from him. There went that option.
With a sigh I stood back up, grabbed the bottle I could see, and quickly whipped the liquid into the glass before anyone could see what it was I grabbed.
Uhm, uh... here you go, miss.
I laughed, edging the glass forward as I stashed the bottle under the counter.
It's... special, just like-
Don't use a pick up line, you fool!
The voice of my inner demon, Tanin, grated in my ear, causing me to cut the sentence short.
Oh, and you're an expert on this, are you?
He didn't respond, and I took the victory as mine, but neither did I care to finish my sentence.

I quietly giggled and snickered as I heard a loud bang from underneath the table. I immediatly covered my mouth to hide the sound of my laughter, for I didn't want to sound like a rude and idiotic person. Peering over the countertop, I caught a small glimpse of Daemon rummaging through the cabinets, looking as confused as ever. But, before I knew it, he was lifting his head up from the bottom, so I pulled my head back as soon as possible.
I simply smirked at him as I took the glass up to my lips. I hesitated since I didn't know what drink it was, but I decided to take a small sip and gulp it down. It tasted quite sweet, and I could tell that a small amount of alcohol was in it. It wasn't enough to make me act like a crazy psycho, so I shrugged and kept on drinking, enjoying the feeling of my quenched thirst.
Once I was finished, I looked toward his direction and said, "Thanks for that...interesting drink." I smiled once more, revealing a set of pearly white teeth that stood out against my black hair. After that, I had no idea on what to say or do, looking back at the bartendar and waiting for something interesting to be said.
I could tell that it was growing colder outside, since the atmosphere in the bar was getting colder by the minute. I leaned forward and rested my elbows on the bar, trying to make myself more comfortable. My head then dipped forward until my forehead touched the counter's chilly surface, my hair creating a blanket across the whole table. A small headache was forming, and it soon made me forget that I was in a bar with people all around me. Realizing that my hair was probably on Daemon and that my action was pretty rude, I lifted my head up as soon as possible, laughing nervously. "Sorry about that...I just have a small headache."

I am with you till the end Never far behind
I was probably sweating off that cake I'd eaten yesterday as her hair brushed my hands. I imagine I turned red, my finger digging into the wood. But it seems just as suddenly as she'd graced me with her black locks, she pulled away with words of apology. I could at least let my breath out, then.
It's.. it's fine.
I choked out, squeezing out a small laugh. My mind spun in several very different, very odd directions, leaving me torn over what to do next and drifting in a sea of indecision. But it turns out, I didn't even need to know, because Tanin took control of the situation.
Would you like me to get you something for that headache? I'm sure I could find something around here.
The words came out, without my consent. But I didn't argue. I mean, really, that would have looked kind of weird.
Your allowed to make mistakes Its a part of every life

Mirage looked over in the direction that Daemon had walked over to, wondering what on all of arda he was doing. There was an interesting looking elven woman that he was talking to. Mirage wondered who she was then remembered that she was supposed to be talking to Kaze. She took a sip of her red wine and asked, "So got any interesting stories you wanna tell?"

I blushed as I realized that I had made him uncomfortable. My hands, which were currently resting on the table near his, were swiftly brought back and put into my lap. I looked away as well, trying to tell myself to not be so idiotic next time.
"No, that's alright. I don't want you to feel like you have to get me anything... And besides, it'll probably wash off with sleep," I replied with a nervous chuckle. Then again, my headache was starting to get worse. My vision was growing weaker, and every sight of bright light made me twitch, following with a quick blink of my now glazed eyes. It also seemed like the room was starting to spin, and that wasn't a good sign... Fainting would be extremely embarrassing, and this would be the second time as well.
God...maybe I should just go to sleep. Wait..no, then Daemon will be gone later in the night. Ugh, stop whining Evylyn, just stick it through for tonight. I argued with myself. I felt a little stupid doing so, but atleast my mind was fighting against my body to stay.
I still had that tiny little urge to just look into his eyes and see what he was thinking and feeling, but the other part of my said no to the whole spying deal... I wanted to see if he wanted to leave, because I felt like I was just being someone boring and someone who was very high maintenance. In response to my long thought process and growing headache, I sighed and put my elbow back on the table, resting my head on it and being sure to keep my hair out of the way.

Kazeielan's gaze follows Daemon over to the bar and watches them with unfaltering surity until Daemon starts to stumble. He would help, but his limbs do not want to move. In fact, all he wants to do is let himself sleep, fall into the comfort of unconciousness.
He widens his drooping eyelids and looks over at Mirage.
"Interesting stories?"
He laughs.
"Quite a few. None, however, would make proper conversation anywhere. Especially with someone that I have hardly just met."
He curls a lock of his hair behind his ear with the unnatrual shadow-hand of his. He pauses for a moment to flex it in front of him and wonder again how the power came to him.
"They most likely would give you nightmares anyway."

"Okay then, so what do you want to talk about?" Mirage asked as her gaze returned to watching Daemon. Mirage was beginning to feel angry for some reason with Daemon. Oh great, now I'm jealous because he's paying attention to some other girl when I was just grousing about how much I hate him for breaking my heart and betraying me. She stared down into her glass of red wine and swirled it around, watching the shadows flicker across it's dark red color. "Have your emotions just ever seemed to contradict what your mind is telling you?"

"In all thruth, yes."
He smiles, something strange that softens his features more than a lot of things would.
"Le coeur de Th a sa raison dont la raison ne sait rien."
Kazeielan pauses and runs a thin finger around the rim of the bottle, stares at the absinthe for a while and then speaks again.
"The heart has its reason that reason knows nothing of. I have found the saying of use more than once."
His gaze goes cold and the smile fades. He stares icily out the window, and his hand strays from the bottle to the teardrop necklace around his throat.
"Even so, the feelings it brought me did me no good. Now I try to ignore my emotions as much as I can."
Kazeielan looks back at her, studying her face for any trace of fear. He is so good at scaring people away, and he so often likes it. There is a trace of weakness on his face, his guard torn by that small question. And then he's got it up again and his face goes cold.

Mirage looked up at Kaze. "Where did you learn that?" She asked. She had not expected someone of Kaze's appearance to speak like that, with what was almost poetic. "I tried to ignore my emotions and all I got was nothing, not that paying attention has done me any more good either." She noticed him touching a necklace that she had never noticed before. "What do you do when someone you loved betrays you?"

"I would not know. Betrayl of that sort has never happened to me."
Kazeielan laughs that hollow laugh that has log been characterized by him.
"Death is all I have ever known. That is all I know how to deal with."
His briht green eyes stray back to the window, watching the night with attentiveness that only an animal could possess. His hand closes into a pale fist, and again his face is pain-stricken.
"But it was a long time ago. I am sure your wounds are much fresher than mine."

"I thought that anywhere from seven to ten years would be enough time to not feel pain when I saw him again," Mirage mumbled as her gaze wandered back over to Daemon. "Turns out that, like every other time I've trusted someone or gotten close to a person, I was wrong."
