The man was chocked full of perfectly useless responses. He had plenty of rumors and gossip, oh yes. But, he did say one useful piece of information, just one. It was enough for me, though. We'd deal with the issues it involved later, right now,I had to follow this piece of information.
Thanks for you cooperation.
You worthless traitor I added mentally, slapping my "friend" on the back and pushing back.
Ready to head off for Nicondoae, Leazra?

"You betcha!" Leazra said. "C'mon!"
She pulled him through the tavern's crowd, eager to get out of the stinking, filthy place and into the outside of fresh air. She breathed deeply once they were out the tavern.
"So what... did that... response mean?"

He told me about a creepy man he'd seen in Nicondoae. And, yeah, I know that's not a lot to go on, but I've got a hunch.
I replied, glancing up and down the street nervously. Something felt a bit off, maybe the smell of the tavern had effected me, I wasn't sure.
Leazra, do you trust me?
I asked, turning back to look at her, my brows furrowed.

Leazra caught the nervous vibe from Kakashi's eyes as he looked over his shoulder once and again. Her brow furrowed as well. "...Is something wrong?"

Not yet, but I need to know, do you trust me? Do you trust me to keep you safe?
I asked, unsure of what I wanted her to say myself. I didn't trust myself to keep anyone safe anymore, and I knew that if she said she trusted me, that if she died I would blame myself. But if she didn't, I wouldn't trust her, and the entire thing would fall apart.
Things were going to get dangerous, really dangerous if we went any further.

Leazra simply said, "...Yeah."

Then pull out that map and find us a road to our new destination.
I replied.

Leazra pulled out the shoved it into Kakashi's face. "You're the guy with the info. Why don't YOU tell us where to go?!"

I rolled my eyes at her, shoving it back toward her.
We went over this, remember? I can't read.
I growled, crossing my arms and watching her expectantly.

Leazra snuffed. "Well, tell me where we want to go first."

Nicondoae. Find me a road there.
I said, turning my eyes back down the street. What was this feeling? It was nagging at me, in the back of my mind.
There's like, no one after you, is there?

"The only one whom I can think who'd be stalking me are you and this other creepy naga who refused to travel with me when I met him," Leazra said casually, looking at the map. "What's the matter?"

It just feels like we're being watched is all.
I replied, walking toward the stables. I was pretty sure Black Moon was eager to get going, just like me. I was starting not to like this place. Maybe I was to used to trouble, the calm was screwing with my head.

Leazra walked a little ways behind Kakashi, the map in her hand as she read it. "Meh, well... It looks like we can cut cross the country via the trading routes that lead to Nicondoae's outer city. I reckon we--Aaagh!"
Leazra suddenly fell to the ground, a fresh arrow having pierced the back of her shoulder.

My eyes widened, my mind turning immediately to battle mode. I crouched down, looking in every direction I could, searching for the assassin. I gripped Leazra's shoulder, shaking her gently.
Lea, are you alright? Can you get up?
It was a bit of a stupid question, obviously if she had an arrow in her shoulder she wasn't alright, but I didn't know what else to say.
