Because I have someone I want to kill, and I want to kill them as quickly as possible. I've waited twenty years to do this, and I don't feel like waiting any longer then I have to.
I explained sharply, glancing around nervously. I was starting not to like this town, something felt wrong. Or maybe it was just my being paranoid.

"You're breaking your promise to answer my questions about your life," Leazra pouted. "An unthought-out answer like 'my father was suicidal' doesn't cut it as an answer for me."
She was clearly a little annoyed by Kakashi's rushing. But that was not in her power to stop as the tavern came into view.

I sighed in relief as the tavern rose before us, and gripping the wooden railing I turned to Leazra, eying her for a moment. No, no, I shouldn't be thinking that way. That's not the person I wanted to be.
Alright, fine then. My father was once a brave, strong warrior. But after my mother died, he fell to pieces and didn't think the world was worth living in. He didn't really feel much except sadness. Pride and bravery and courage just kind of faded from his vocabulary, and one day I came home to find the floor bloody and him hanging from the rafters. In short, he was a sad, suicidal man, which is exactly what I told you before.
I explained quickly, precisely, and with an edge of annoyance in y voice.
Does that satisfy your curiosity?
I snapped, feeling the wood begin to crack beneath my hand. I let go of the banister, looking up the stairs and into the tavern with a sinking feeling my my stomach, Me and taverns usually didn't get along well. One of us either ended up burned to the ground or beaten up and bloody.

Leazra rolled her eyes. "You're so touchy."
She strode past him and entered the tavern. Upon entering, the elf girl looked about and saw that it was filled with rough-looking, smirking, dirty men-- possibly traders of the slave, or black market dealers, or something dishonorable to society.
It was hard to find a place to sit down, so she leaned against the wall, next to the door, in case she needed a quick, efficient exit.

Me? Touchy?
I called after her, watching her escape into the building.
Oh, I'm not touchy. I'm, like one of the calmest, un-touchy, easy-going people I know, did you know that?
I added, trotting up the stairs after her. I wasn't going to stop my rant until I was done, even if I did end up looking like an idiot.
I'm not touchy, oh, no I am not. I am super calm and laid back, that's what I am. And if you think I'm touchy, maybe... maybe you should, I don't look in the mirror, because, well...
By this time I realized I was loosing any point I had had in the first place, and it might be a good time to shut-up and admit defeat.
In fact, I've been calm through some pretty hairy situations, you know. Pretty hairy. Like, spider leg kind of hairy. Did you know I slayed a dragon once? Well, almost slayed, I nicked his scale, which is pretty good for a guy with a stick, five monks, and a bag of mushrooms. But I didn't bend, no, I didn't...
I, of course, ignored the warning sign of loosing my point, and continued to ramble and rant until I realized everyone in the tavern was looking at me. In fact, a few of them seemed interested in the story.
I stayed strong, and now... now... now...
Their eyes were making me loose my train of thought. Or, at least, loose my loss of train of thought... I think.
You never answered my maldiciĆ³n question about your father.
I ended it weakly, but at least it finally ended.

"You talk a whole lot about yourself," Leazra pointed out, smirking at him. "You've got the entire tavern interested in your story."
The elf girl pulled up a stool from the counter and faced Kakashi again. She leaned forward, as did a few more of the tavern guests. "So," she said brightly, "my father can wait. What about your story, hm? These taverns LOVE stories like this, you know."

W-what?
I squeaked, my voice cracking in a very unfaltering tone. It had to be the one with the mushrooms, didn't it? I had to bring that one up, I couldn't have done one of the thousands of other stories, well, five other stories I knew.
Well, I mean, there's not much more to say, really. I mean, there I was escorting these five monks of Habich, which believe all of existence came about because a mage sneezed during the middle of one of his spells. Very interesting, their theory about how existence was contained originally in his snot. I'll have to tell you about that sometime. But, anyway, there I was with these five monks, escorting them to some holy tissue or something, when one of them had the bright idea of taking a short-cut through a unknown, dark, dank, and mysterious cavern with a large sign that said "WARNING, DRAGON" in big red, friendly letters hanging in front of it.He assured me it was safe, so, well, we went, we traveled, we did whatever you do in dark, mysterious caves, and then something tried to toast our buts off. I turned around, and there, just standing there, was this huge red dragon muttering something about people and squirrels. I reached for the nearest weapon, which just so happened to be one of the monk's holy staffs, I got a good wack on the head for that mistake later, and I hit that creature as hard as I could. Cracked the stick pretty well, but didn't hurt the dragon. He got pretty upset, though, and started breathing fire all over the place. So, I decided, hey, might as well go out with a bang, so I grabbed my bag of mushrooms and toasted them a bit. And, you know what, the darn thing was afraid of mushrooms, and he reared up, slipped on some coins, fell back and cracked a few scales open. And then... well, then I ran.
I ended my story glancing around nervously as I remembered it wasn't as grand a tail as I thought it had been. In fact, it wasn't very grand at all. I wasn't sure if the tavern folk had loved it or hated it, because they all sat there staring at me with their mouths open, like they could do nothing else.

Leazra hid her face, but the way she was twitching and the sounds that were being suppressed from her made it obvious to Kakashi that she was laughing. It was quite an unbelievable story, in a couple of senses.
However, the tavern folk, whether it be because they were drunk and didn't understand or otherwise, burst out in cheers and laughter. "Hail to the Dragon Scaler!"

He he, erm, yeah, thanks.
I said, sliding down out of view of everyone, or, at least, trying to to and looking like an idiot as I do it.
Can we just, uh, get someone drunk now?

"You mean like you?" Leazra shoved a 'large pint' of ale in his face as he almost backed into her. She smirked.

Ha, nice try, but I'm not drinking anything.
I replied, pushing the mug back with an... invisible... smirk. I turned and scanned the crowd, looking for my victim. Surely he would be here somewhere...

Leazra shrugged. "Suit yourself." And she absently smashed the glass mug onto an adjacent man's head. He fell to the ground, twitching.
A buddy of his turned to Leazra, glaring fiercely. "You the one who just took out my pal?" He pointed an accusing finger at... Kakashi.

Erm, um, well...
I stuttered, pointing weakly at Leazra for a few moments. Realizing the man had obviously fixed him self on me, and nothing I would do or say would change his mind, I decided that the best way to proceed would in fact be to back up and maybe run out the door. Then, again, I realized that wasn't the right thing to do, and I had a mission to complete.
Yeah, yes I did. And if you don't back off, you're going to get some too.
I threatened, lifting my fist and shaking it in his face. Thinking back, that probably was a bad thing to do.

The man stood up. And, whoa nelly! he was tall! And buff, where one bicep muscle was the size of Kakashi's head. A monstrous fist clamped Kakashi around the neck.
And before Kakashi could recover, that fist launched the elf right up into the second floor above.

ooc: ((0.o oh, oh dear...))
Oh, well now, that hadn't been expected, or enjoyed, or even really wanted on any level. The second level of the tavern, I must say, needed a little work if the elf had been able to shove me through the floor so easily. But, despite the way things looked, I was on top of things. Erm, no pun intended.
Hoyo de asno.
I growled, gripping the hand that held me and trying to hurt it in some way. To my surprise, yes, I was surprised, my struggling didn't effect it to much, so in a last ditch effort to escape, I pulled off my mask for a moment and bit as hard as I could into the hand. Needless to say, that worked, and I dropped to the floor, skittering backward out of the reach of the now injured monster.
I blame you for this, Leazra.
