I ground my teeth, whipping the blood away from my nose as I glanced over at the girl with the fiery hand.
No, we really can't all be friends.
I growled, allowing mist to swirl around me, racing over my figure and over the ground, into the cracks of the wood and around the bar stools.

I watched the mist swell and grow. "That's cool," I said calmly. Cat, apparently, didn't think so. He yowled, racing for higher ground; though there wasn't really any. I murmured something in his direction, trying to calm him down, to no avail.
My gaze steered back to the fight, which had apparently paused for the moment. I knew that there wasn't much I could do to stop it entirely. Narrowing my eyes, I chucked the fireball, just missing the foggy girl by inches and scorching the wall behind her. "Take it outside," I snapped.
Chances were, if it was going outside, I'd be going outside with it, though.

"C'mon... the fight isn't worth it. She wants a fight, she can pick a drunk."
Pike suspiciously watched Finnea's aim, knowing full well what a gun was and what it was capable of doing despite lack of bullets. He edged over to the door and went outside, hoping Narya would follow.

I bit my lower lip, trying to keep from pouting. I wanted to fight, badly, even with my nose still bleeding, even if Pike was bleeding. The mist still swirled, edging closer to my opponent, sifting around her legs. I was so close, all I had to do was reach those weapons of hers, push them away...
But what if I didn't move fast enough? What if she fired, and I was hit? What if Pike was hit?
I want my ale, though....

"Do you really think it's a smart idea to go back in there with some hot-headed pick-fight?" Pike said. "We don't know how adept she is at fighting either. She could very well speak truly and poke our eyes out in less than a millisecond."

"I could," Finnea says nonchalantly from the mist, "but I won't if you stop trying to kill me. I wasn't the one who attacked you, after all." She steps out and lounges against the doorframe, gun held loosely in hand. "Here," she says, and sheaths the dagger she had helf. "Better?"

My eye twitched as my hands balled into fists. I didn't trust myself to say anything, because I knew it would just make everything worse. I looked at Pike, my face begging him to make this better. He seemed to understand the situation better then me, and I decided it was time I set my pride aside and let him take control.

"I'm holding you to your word, woman," Pike said monotonously. "Just keep in mind that we will now consider your insults and insensible remarks as a form of attack, and we will not hesitate to retaliate."
Pike nodded to Narya and led her back over to the counter. "My partner here ordered an ale, I believe," he said to the bartender.

As I enter the tavern, the scent of anger hits me full-on. A smile flashes across my face and I inconspicuously draw a knife. But as the fight dies down, I shake my head sadly.
It seems as only a couple of people notice me, though I am most likely the tallest person in here. But, also the one most likely to be messed with. I sit in a corner, alone, with my boots crossed on a table in front of me and my head bowed so my hood hides my face.

((*curses* wrong account. this is kasanda. give me a couple of seconds to fix it...))
I hesitated before sitting down, rubbing my hand apprehensively as I sat down. Cat's own muscles relaxed, and he lifted his face upward, blinking densely as if smelling something that completely baffled him. As I continued to stare at my drink ignorantly, he wandered over to the dark hooded man alone in the corner.
I glanced at the boy and his companion, trying to figure them out. It proved near impossible, though. All that I had on them was that the girl had something of a temper.
I offered a small smile to them anyway, though it was hard to work through my dark mood and find the strength to show the miniscule grin.

Finnea walks over to Kazeielan's table; sits down and slides a glass full of green liquid over to him. "Haven't seen you recently," she says casually. "Been busy killing people, then?"

I take a short drink from the glass. ' No. Just... trying to stay sane, ' I say with a humorless laugh. I fall silent for a while, staring at the glass. ' What of you? How have you been?' I ask, looking up from the glass at her.

A short pause; she swills her drink around, again and again. "Not very well," she says eventually. "Didn't want to leave, you know... Have you seen Adeni recently? How is he?" The mention of her former lover is dropped into the conversation too casually to be mere coincidence, she knows, but she has to know.

I shake my head. ' I haven't seen him, sorry, ' I know she knows that it's one of the only apologies that she's ever going to get from me, but it is the truth. I understand, maybe better than most, what it is to lose a loved one as close as they were. It can drive a man mad.

Another pause, a longer one this time. "All right then," she says. "I needed to tell him something, but I suppose I can find him myself." She stands up, turning away to mask the tears, the ones that come often even though she tries to wish them away. "Goodbye, then," she says, and starts to walk away.
