'Anyone else's...' I stop, my words die in my mouth. I stare at her with a fierce sincerity that I don't even know I'm capable of.
'Why do I care? It is something that I have asked myself many times. But, whether you like it-or believe it- or not, I do. I have given many more than one thought to your and Adeni's wellbeing, believe me, '
My tone is bemused at first, but vaguely so. Then, it matches hers-if not lower because of my voice-the same emotionlessness as hers.
ooc; this is the finn/kaze in the harplen tavern continued. yay!

Finnea snorts, indelicately. "I'm not sure whether to laugh or hit you," she says, leaning back against the solid wooden wall of the tavern, damp from the mist and the dew of early morning. "Doesn't matter anyways. I can find him myself. Shouldn't have told you."

' And that is why I do not tell people whether I care or not, ' I hiss under my breath. I stare at the ground for a while, wondering why I said anything in the first place. ' And maybe it does matter.'

"It doesn't," she says, although she is not at all sure about her words. For the first time, she looks directly at him. "It was a long time ago. But I wanted him to know. And, well..." She shrugged. "If he wasn't availible, I guess the next best thing was you. Tell me if you see him." And with that, she turns yet again to leave, though somewhat ominously predicting silently that he will stop her yet again.

' Yes, it does, ' I say, my voice still a soft, even tone. I'm still amazed that she thought me heartless. If Arra's death has done this much to me, then it's impossible for me to be completely cold. I sigh, mot expecting her to turn around.

"What do you want?" she asks, turning, face haggard and infuriated. "A play-by-play of the past? I'd rather not relive that, Kazeielan. I have that happen enough when I try to sleep."

' I know. I've heard you wake up screaming. And that isn't what I want, just as I know that you would rather not hear my life story, ' Somehow, my voice remains even. I don't even think I look remotely angry. I sigh faintly and shove my hands into my pockets. ' Would you rather I be a heartless monster? '

Sometimes, she says, with the barest ghost of the smile. It'd make you easier to deal with. She runs a hand through her hair, and then looks up after a moment. Tell him I love him, she says after a moment, evenly, no trace of emotion in her voice. When you see him, I mean.

I laugh faintly. ' I suppose it would, wouldn't it? ' But once again, I'm taken back by her words. It takes a minute for my brain to process them, and I hardly choke out any words. ' I will. '

Thank you, she says, almost inaudibly. Then she looks up after a moment and adds, Shouldn't you be trying to kill me about right now?

' I usually would be, wouldn't I? ' I muse, laughing faintly again. I expect an awkward silence, as we haven't been less than ten feet from eachother without trying to murder one another. That, and I can't find what to say.

Usually, she says, with little emotion. It appears that this is one of the rare anomalies, she says wryly, and then looks up, cupping her face in small hands and giving him a felicitous grin. So, she says, Why are you here? Looking for the corpses of relatives so you can lay them to rest? Or simply wandering?

' Wandering, I suppose, ' I say with a shrug. ' Most of my relatives are sons of random women, ' I say, laughing sarcasticly again.

Really, she says, raising a skeptical eyebrow delicately. So, am I to assume that by 'relatives', you mean 'bastard children', which means Adeni has -shock- siblings? she asks, with the delicate mockery of one with wishes to offend ultimately.

' Yes, he does. Though... They are most definately accidents, ' I can't help a small smile. I shrug and laugh faintly. ' I am a man. I do have....' I fake a cough, ' urges. '
