Krake walked down the bustling streets of Ruby CIty, the VIllage hidden deep inside the Volcano, Ruby Mountain. Wearing his trademark black pants and a black coat with two holes in the back for his wings. He had them pressed tightly against his back but it still didn't stop the pressure of the gazes of villagers and travelers.
He grimaced as another child bounced on their mothers skirt and asked why he looked so funny. Flicking his red eyes around for a place to eat, his eyes settled on a rundown pub and diner. Walking inside he crinkled his nose as his nose was assaulted with the overbearing smell of alcohol and drunks, though he could pick out the smell of some good meat.
Sitting down at the bar, he declined an offered drink and ordered a piece of beef, meduim rare-his favorite. Slouching down in his seat, he heard more drunken whispers about him, though since they were drunken whispers, almost the whole bar could hear 'em.

Guy walked into the tavern, glad that the merchant had finally released him of his duties. The voyage had been long and uneventful, but the merchant had been crazed and saw goblins where there was nothing. He walked over and sat down at the tavern bar. He singled for a mug of ale and began to slowly sip it. He looked around the tavern. Most people were drunk, and then he saw that sitting to his right was a man with dragon wings. An interesting character to be sure, he thought as he turned back to his mug of ale and ordered a bowl of beef and vegetable stew to go with it. He was soon enjoying the first real food he had had in months. Once the merchant had discovered that he was a dragon, he had been forced to eat the scraps and raw meat, which was not enough to keep a dragon going, especially one who most often lived in a human form. He was soon lost in his memories of days long ago, when he was with his load and eccentric family, all of them trying to eat at one table that was far too small for the thirty dragons that lived together in one massive mansion. Those had been the best years of his life, the long conversations about books, politics, history, philosophy, and even science. Sitting by the fire and drinking tea while reading a book of poems to his sister, or watching the stars come out with the family as they sat on the front porch.

Krake glanced to his right as a man sat down, ordering some ale. A long plumage ran out of the mans hat, and he briefly thought of the elegant birds which were colored like flames. He was distracted as a greasy plate of meat was placed in front of him, the sweet aroma of beef playing at his nose.
As he ate a bite of the meat, he causually studied the man using his periphials. He sensed that the man was no ordanairy human, but he wasn't 100% sure at the moment. Placing another slice of food in his mouth, he contemplated as he chewed. The man didn't hold the Queens insignia, but then agian he didn't usually wear one either. Keeping quiet he glanced over again, shifteng his wings as he did so. An interesting character indeed.

Guido felt the eyes of the other man observing him. He continued eating his stew and remembering the days long gone. He finished the stew, but there was still some broth left in the bowl, so he ordered some fresh white bread and sopped up the broth. It tasted delicious. He finally turned his head to the man on his left and said, "Hello."

Krake continued eating his slab of meat, letting the warm juice run down his throat into his inviting stomach. The man next to him ordered some bread and soaked the broth left in his bowl. "Hello."
Startled he turned his. crimson gaze to the man next to him. Nodding his head ever so slightly he replied. "Hello." he placed another chunk of meat into his mouth and looked expectantly back at the strange man with the pheonix feather hat.

"My names is Guy Fawkes, may I enquirer as to your name?" he asked. He was in the mood for some conversation, and this man looked like he had some interesting stories to tell.

Krake nodded as the stranger spoke his name, licking the last traces of the meat from his lips. Guy Fawkes huh? Interesting name that's for sure. Not that his was normal or anything. "Name's Krake." He caught the bartenders eye and heanded back his plate, feeling sufficiently full for the moment. He shifted in his seat so he was slightly facing the man. "Where you from?"

"I'm from up north," Guido said. "I used to live in a large mansion on the outskirts of a small town, really it was in the middle of nowhere. Now, I have no home. I just find work where I can and go wherever it takes me. And you?"

Krake nodded and replied, "I'm with the queen's army right now. Been here for a couple years. Was alone before that." using one hand he gestured at the pheonix feather, "And where did you come across that?"

Guy smiled as he got a distant look in his eyes and began to tell the story behind the phoenix feather and his eccentric black hat. "I was six-teen and it was my first trip to Ruby Mountain. My father was a merchant, so I've always been used to traveling with caravans. It was the first time my father had taken me with him on one of his trips. He traveled to far off places that my sister and I had never heard of, places that most people wouldn't believe even existed. We had a lot of magical items in our mansion, and a most unique library that he had collected over the years. But, I went with him, and we were collecting the items we were going to sell. Well, we came to a hat shop, and there was this large black hat with the plume from a phoenix on it. I really liked it, of course, we all thought it was a bit outrageous, but with a family of eccentric dragons, it was only to be expected that I would like such a hat. So we bought it, and we continued on our voyage throughout Forinasi. No one wanted to buy that hat. So at the end of the trip, my father gave it to me as a present. So no, contrary to what some people would like to think, this is not a family heirloom. When I got home with the hat, my sister just about died of laughter seeing me wearing this ridiculous hat, and I've worn it ever since." He laughed as he remembered the look on Leana's face, her eyes wide with amusement, her silvery sweet laugh ringing through the air as he'd walked through the door...

Intresting. "A strange enough present." It suddenly hit him on what the man had said. ...but with a family of eccentric dragons... So that was it. "I'm sorry, did you say a family of dragons?" He wanted to make sure that this guy wasn't making a crockpot story, though he didn't hold a normal humans aura....

"Yes, I did say a whole family of dragons. There were about thirty of us living in one mansion. We all had human forms, and often times spent much of our lives in those forms. I lived with my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, parents, and my sister." He looked down at his hands for a few moments, hoping that Krake couldn't see the pain that flashed through his eyes as he remembered how it had all ended. He regained control of himself and once more began to speak. "One side of my family were tundra dragons with ice based powers, and the other side of my family were fire breathing dragons. It made for interesting days to say the least. I can transform into both kinds of dragon, and can use both powers at the same time if I feel like it." As he said this, he formed a fire ball in his one hand, and a ball of ice in the other and began to juggle the two. Then in a flash, they both vanished. "But that was a long time ago, before Waefae had made his presence known."

Krake nearly fell off the grimy stool 'Thirty dragons! No way!' The only other dragons he had encountered were the ones in the army. And this Guy Fawkes person had lived with over thirty of 'em! Not to mention they were his family too. Krake had seen the brief flash of pain in his eye's, and dropped the subject. "Fun. So what'cha here in Ruby City for? Can't be for the sightseeing im sure..."

He gave a small smile to Krake's reaction concerning how large his family had been, but they had all been close, granted it was unusual for that large a number of dragons to stay together, but that was what family did. They stuck together no matter what. "I just got back from guarding a merchant's caravan, and I am currently unemployed," Guido said, glad that Krake had dropped the subject concerning his family. He didn't want to have to get into the tragic end to his happy life right now.

Hmm. Unemployed eh? Maybe he could look around and see if anyone got a job for him. Krake pondered this for a mement before looking back at Guy. "So you wanna stay here? Or go out on the town?" He hadn't been out lately and the beef had made him happy, he was in the mood for just about anything right now.
