She smiled, her hand holding the wet rock tightly, as she climbed up. Near the top...Almost...Few more stones, and she'll be there. On top of the world. Up high, seeing down at the world bellow....Part of the world, yes, but never the less...The wind played with her silver and gold hair, mist covering her skin, and clothing. Almost like dew on a spiderweb....Child...She almost felt herself a child again...true, she wasn't far from it, but it didn't matter, it seemed so long ago...
Smiling a little to herself she let one hand go, as she swinged on the other, holding on to a crook in the rock. Before her was a view few of many see in their life time. Trees on both sides, like a sea for as far as the eye could see...And the river, like a liquid jewel running and shining though them, in the bright sunlight....And the falls....Crashing down over the rocks bellow with a thunderous roar, and yet...and yet up here, it was mare quick running watter as it flew over the edge, spilling into the valley bellow.
Her bright blue eyes swept the valley again, before she continued climbing, finally reaching the top. Sitting there, her legs swinging over the cliff, no more then mare feet from the deathly water, she inhailed the cold air deeply. Her thoughts battled with in her head...Illusion...all but an illusion...She smiled....Spreading her arms wide her head back, she stood up, her eyes closed shut, as she let out a long scream...
Free....Free at last...
Even if it were just a mare illusion...mare wish...False belief...
Her scream rippped though the thunder of the falls, as she let out everything that boiled with in her...pain...frustration...hurt...fear...all....
For now...For Just this moment...the world around her didn't exist... Only the falls, her...and the dreams that soared up high....

I lied on the river bank, feeling the waters glide between my toes and wash over my ankles. The cool touch was refreshing, encouraging my mind to wander far and free as time passed me. Out here, beyond the sight of Waefae, I felt free, free enough to discard my mask and cloak and instead lay unhidden upon the shore. Few ever traveled to this height, it was a long hike or a rough climb, with only a meager reward of a beautiful scene. Beauty didn't go far in today's society, and that included myself. It was the solitude I came for.
And that solitude was jarringly shattered by a cry.
I snapped upright, twisting my head to catch the scream. Far down the winding river I could hear the roar of the waterfall, that is where the mystery lay. Casting a glance to my discarded gear, I stood and tiptoed along he mud and gravel, letting the water wash my feet as I went. The gentle current of the river rushed into a torrent, crashing over rocks in miniature rapids. The roar or falling water soon overrode the babble I had come to hear, putting me in a negative mood.
There was a girl on the edge, looking out. The only other soul on at the top, I assumed. She seemed uninjured, and she had certainly not fallen off the cliff. I walked up to here, leaving the cold of the back and squishing the long grasses between my toes.
Are you alright? I asked, intending to catch her attention. Yes, her attention. Her eyes would turn, and would see me, and only me; that is something no one has done in many years. She would know the secret not even Waefae knew; I was a woman.
And I don't think she would really care, because she wouldn't even know the difference. Yes, this waterfall, this river, held freedom.

The girl stood there, her hair flying in the wind, locks whisping over her face, her eyes still closed, as she inhailed deeply. Fresh air. Sweet taste of unbound possibility...Vast...Vast skyies over head, never ending river that runs on and on though the ever growing forest....The valleys bellow, and the untold mistery that layed behind her, up here on the top. The beggining...The start...The birthplace, of the freedom that stretched for so long a distance.
Are you alright? that voice....it was there...wasn't it....Reluctantly, her eyes snapped open, as she threw a sharp glare over her shoulder at the intruder. The other being up here....Yes, one may say that she has rather...not expected any one else to be up here. Especially at this perticular time...Loosing her balance, she swayed, though leaning back, she fell back on the soft grass, looking at the other person upsidown for a single moment before sitting up. She apperead slightly surprised, with almost an inocent glow about her, as her silver and opal clothing shined in the sunlight.
Tilting her head to the side slightly, she nodded. The smile, and the openess gone rather abruptly from the atmostphere about her. The intrusion wasn't exactly welcomed. Then again, it was understandable, the other person has not exactly welcomed it either...
"Yea. Perfectly fine, why?" Her voice was soft, just like her features, though her eyes remained as cold as ice. Still something about her, seemed to pass even thogh the gentleness of touch, and the revial the ice inside, just like her eyes did.

She did not seem pleased to see me. Her eyes were cold, a familiar sight which chilled the warm feels I had been holding. I flashed my own forced, subtle smile, trying to appear comfortable before her.
I was simply worried; I heard a scream, so I came to investigate and found you. There are not many people this high, many to attempt the journey injure themselves. I bit my lip, forgetting that she could see my own expressions. I held back my words, playing them in my head and understanding that they would only bring an argumentative tone to the already tense meeting. My day had been spoiled as is, I did not intend to draw blood to ruin it further.
I looked back and forth, wishing to understand my next step. My first desire was to escape, was to make a snide remark and turn back to my quiet river bank. But that felt like a childish, dangerous thing to do, unprotected and as near to the stranger as I was. Looks deceive easily, knives are concealed easier.
Did you climb up here? I asked.

Touch of amusement touched the corners of the girl's lips. Faint, bearly visible, bearly noticible. To those who do not know her, practically invisible. She tilted her head to the side, sensing all too well that the other woman was nerveous. Displeased, tence...And, to some degree she found it amusing. Right now, they were like two springs pushed down upon to the limit, ready to let go and spring up at any given second. Yes...Her, mind did change...Oh, what did they call it? Insanity? Delusion? No...not that...But it didn't matter now, did it?
When she heard the other woman speaking she nodded. True, true enough, some did infact scream when they were in pain, were planing on doing something...or just down right jumping into the endless pit below. And, there were just others who screamed to let the feelings bunched up inside out...
At the second question she nodded again, her eyes focusing on the other woman this time.
"Yes. Did you?" Her voice seemed to loose a shred of it's bite. Cold, soft, gentle, icy, but not as biting...not as dangerous.

I was used to conversations like this, where neither party was interested in what was being said, but continued to be polite. They happened often in Waefae's higher ranks. You smile at those above you, you curse those below you, and the stab the ones beside you in the back. He always had the most interesting parties.
No, I came up the path. It is an easy road for those with experience. I smiled slightly, shaking off the cold tone for a friendlier one. Perhaps I could turn the conversation in my favor, make an event out this that would benefit me. The worries and concerns I had let the river wash away crawled back into my mind, infesting it with sinister ideas and plots.
But speaking of experience, I must ask if you come here often, or if this is your first time braving the climb. Each option tells me much about you. I added more to my previous remark, unwilling to let the conversation die into silence.

The other girl nodded. Slowly she stood up, taking a step toward the edge of the cliff, looking down. The wind coming up, playing with her hair. Polite conversations indeed...Though, contrasting her current companion, she came from the Queens circle...even if it proved nothing. Same principles applied there too...Applied everywhere in fact.
She smiled again, her eyes flashing with excitement for a second, before she churned back to the other woman, looking at her with a smile. For a moment she wondered which answer to give, and what they will mean to the woman in teh end.
"Lets put it this way...I have been on such climbs before...But it is my first time here...so, I guess first time braving this climb..." The girl chuckled, looking down again. "But I loved it! It was amazing!"
She blinked, glancing over her shoulder. Looking over the woman. "Who are you anywas? Or, at least, what's your name?"She asked curiously.

((oc: Lol, am I late enough with my reply? -embarrassed- I can understand if you don't care to continue roleplaying this))
If my intuition was right, which I was confident was right, I figured her to be an adventurous girl. She spoke of experience in climbing, and she had also braved the cliff face which Even I had seen as daunting, so she was not to be trifled with. A challenge, one might say. The idea teased the dark side of me, allowing my mind to wander into more sinister thoughts. I could feel myself warming to the situation as we continued our polite exchange.
Ehm, I'm D... Twilight. I flashed a smile, trying to hide my discomfort at speaking my real name. I consoled my nerves by promising myself she wouldn't know the importance of my name; it would mean nothing to her. There was no need to hide from this stranger.
And yours? I replied, taking a seat on the river bank again. I gripped the long grass between my fingers, slowly allowing myself to fall back to my previous stage of relaxation.

(Heh...Late?)
The young woman smiled again, walking away from the cliff side. It was by all means a gourgeous view, no one would dare argue that, but, still, even when introducing self to another, it is by far better to be facing them. Still baring a smile, she walked over to the woman, sitting down next to the woman, while making sure to keep a polite distance.
"Nice to meet you Twilight!" She mused. It was interesting meeting new people. Yet, for some reason today, she was smiling just far too much. Maybe it was the adrenalin still rushing through her veins. She was not about to give the woman her name. Especially since her name was somewhat known.
"I'm Kanae." Kalia flashed another smile. Though a cheery airhead at first glance, she was cautious.
