Jayden lurked in the shadows of the night. She looked to the moon and saw the path that lay before her as it lit the darkness. She let a silent sigh escape her pale lips as she looked through the trees and out into the darkness.
She grabbed the branch above her and pulled herelf int othe tree with speed. She crouched down on the branch as she looked around, making sure she was not being followed. She adjusted the hood on her head as she set of on the branches of the trees, moving at a speed that most would not be able to see her, loving the agility that came with being what she was.
She paused for a moment to look arond her, sure that no on e was around she jumped from the tree and landed silently on the ground. She adjusted her hood once more as she walked to a small lake that lay in the center of the forest. She stood over the calming waters and looked at her refection, her eyes seemed to pierce the water to the very depths.
"Never let those around you tell you that your not worht anythin because of what your are Jayden... You have been given a gift, you have your father's agility and your mother's eyes, use them to your advantage, do not let anyone tell you that you are not good enough..."
Jayden felt a shudder run down her spine, Emily. Why were her words in her head now? So many years after they had been spoken to her. She watched the shadowed face in the water, the hood darkened it to where her face would not easily be seen. She looked at her reflection, as if it was reflecting back not her body, but her soul, dark and cold.

Each attempt at silenty padding through the forest made me grow even more displeased, my eyes fuming with fury. I was not used to having to control my every sound and noise, so obviously, I hadn't paid any attention when I arrived in the forest. But, the rationalization of having someone watching my every move appeared in my mind. I had absurdly wandered through the forest for about an hour now with incredible noise, and I was extremely mad at myself for doing so. Who knows? Someone could be right behind me with a pointy dagger in their hands for all I know.
An exasperated sigh escaped my lips as I ended my brief journey through the forest, my legs stopping in place and my eyes starting to survey my surroundings. I had trouble viewing the forest; its obsurced lighting was strenuous for my eyes, and I wished that I could trade my power to freeze things for the power to burn things. That way, I would be able to demolish the whole forest to see who or what was probably watching me. Then again, the person, innocent or not, would be killed, and I would end up not seeing anything due to the heavy and murky smoke that would follow my idiotic actions.
I had completely surrendered by now, my body now leaning against a towering tree. All that I had to do was to sit, wait, and wonder what fate had in store for me. Hey, it might just be my deranged mind trying to frighten me with something like a shade stalking me, or it might really all be reality.

She did not even have to look behind her to know there was someone there, lurking in the darkness. She spun, her hood not dishelving from her head, as if it was glued there, to continuously hide her face in the shadows. She peered into the night with her icy eyes, searching for the creature in which she sensed moments ago.
She scanned the trees, her eyes resting on blond. She blinked for a moment, not used to that color, in her darkness she was accustomed to darkened colors, so this bright color was a sheer shock to her to say the least. She looked again, Fairy she thought to herself, and a pissed off one at that.
She had to hide a chuckle, this night would be amusing. She took a step, her feet silent on the ground, she took another, making not a sound. She was not stalking her, nor was she going to attack her, she had her taste of blood already that evening, this was just mere playtime, to see how this fairy would react...
"So, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" Jayden said with a smirk and a dark chuckle, tonight would be very interesting indeed...

Seeing the woman appear from out of the shadows surprised me, shocked me actually. I had expected to see someone that looked a bit more... errr... hostille. Then again, she did look a bit intimidating underneath that hood, and I wasn't used to her general "look" either.
"You make it sound as if you own these woods," I snorted, my eyes rolling in irritation. "And why would you even care? It's not like it matters; and besides, you don't look like someone who would.. enioy the company of a fairy," I glared, emphasizing the word fairy. I was already jealous of her height, but I was fairly proud about not being a huge, extremely tall monster either. The only problem is that the world is mostly filled with these huge and tall monsters, making my small form seem ridiculous.
My legs had to push off of the ground so that I could get my eyes at almost the same level as hers. The longer I stood up, the more my toes burned with pain. I literally had enough of this... stretching after a couple of minutes, so I dropped down to my previous stance and looked at her from down below, a smirk forming on my mouth for no particular reason. I would have a nice time annoying her about how I'm a short little fairy, and I would devote my time in the forest in an attempt to make her time spent here a living hell. Or atleast, annoying for that matter. I had no intention of making new friends, and she didn't look like she was too interested in that either.

She chuckled darkly as she watched the fustrated little fairy attempt to be bold. "I did not mean to imply these were owned by me, I simply did not expect to see a creature of your--" She lcked her fangs softly, thought the fairy could not see this. "Stature to be here..." She finished after a moment.
She watched as the fairy grew close to her, too close for her comfort. She tightened her jaw. "You would do well not to step so near to my next time fairy..." She stated bitterly. "I do not take kindly to people being in my proximity..." She added, taking a step to the side as she walked around the small creature to take in her form.
She had seem many fairies in her time, but not on of them had the gumption that this one did... This amused her greatly.

"Alright alright!" I sneered, putting my hands up in front of me in a defensive manner. "If I knew that you were anti-social, I wouldn't have even approached you." I rolled my eyes before looking away, muttering a few things under my breath. This... woman, seemed a bit... dangerous, in a way, as if being in the same area with her would be like bargaining with my own life.
Listening to her peculiar comment, I took a few steps back, a gap now forming between us. A slender tree was sitting behind me, so I leaned against it, glad that my back now had some support. I had a feeling that some of her actions would put me into minor shock... either that or just make me extemely confused.
"Anyways, I can ask you the same question. What are you doing walking around in the woods?" I quietly muttered, figuring that I could learn someting more about her after I heard her reply. Then again, she could be lying... she looked like the devious type, always using stupid excuses so that her true reasons would stay hidden from the public.

She nodded to the fairy, she seemed tense, this did not bother Jayden too much, many were tense around her. She looked to the fairy, calming herself slightly as she watched the fairy take some steps back and then lean against a sapling. Wise choice.
Jayden shrugged. She looked around the forest and was about to respond when she caught a whiff of the fairies thought. She had to chuckle at this. "There is no reason for me to lie to you fairy... And you can trust me on this one, I may live and breathe shadows and darkness, but I am not one to taint the truth."
She shrugged once more. "I was bored, as I often am in these times, and I decided to take a stroll, to see what was around me, and she see if there was anything to peak my interest..." She stated a-matter-of-fact-ly. Her voice taking an offhanded tone.
