OK, fine. You know that day you woke up and found your favorite cloak cut in two? That was me, not Herla. Does that satisfy you? Now put the knife away before you make me do something I might not regret.
I growled, not in the mood for any playing around and suspicion. From anyone. Next person to look at me funny was going to get a knife in their back.

Mirage quickly sheathed her dagger and almost smiled. She then punched Daemon in the shoulder, not hard just for play, and said, "Then why did you blame her?" She really didn't care about the cape at the moment, just wanted some friendly conversation. Daemon's really cute....

Because that's kind of the point of a prank, Mira.
I sighed, crossing my arms and looking my troublesome companion up and down. I was getting the distinct feeling that we were getting no where except deeper into this big, ugly hole we were digging. And I wasn't even sure if it was the same hole, either. And, to continue my little analogy here, I think we were steadily digging our graves. At least we were getting somewhere with that, though I didn't particularly appreciate that little bit of truth.

Mirage shook her head, had there really been no hint of sarcasm or joking in her voice? He hurt you, why do you think he's cute? The shade asked her. Shut up! Mirage mentally shouted at the shade. "I know that's the point of a prank Daemon. I was attempting to be sarcastic or at least get some friendly conversation going." She looked into his eyes and started laughing as she remembered the time they had almost kissed. For once, it was not painful to remember that, and Mirage had no idea why it wasn't. Before she could stop herself, she found herself kissing Daemon.

Dang, I never knew Tanin knew so many swear words. I felt so many of his emotions poring through me I stood like a statue, feeling her lips on mine. His thoughts flooded my own, sending signals and feelings through my body. Curse him, he... he want me to kiss back.
Grghfpphg...
I growled, grabbing a hold of Mirage's shoulders and pushing her back.

"I'm so sorry Daemon," Mirage gasped. "I don't know what overcame me...." And in truth she really didn't know what was happening. First she wanted to kill him; the next minute she'd kissed him. Mirage looked away; her face turning crimson as she realized how forward she had been. You still love him, don't you...? the shade's voice resounded in her head. "No, I don't love him. Shut Up! Leave me alone you stupid demon!" Mirage shrieked out loud as she tried to go against the truth.

... Alright, the situation had deteriorated. A lot. I stood, now a confused, dazed statue, in front of Mirage wonder who she was talking to and how all of this was going to efect me int he near future. Would I find a knife in my heart? Would I have to kill her? What was going on?!
Tanin? Tanin... I don't like this... This isn't playful banter...
My mind fell backwards to my only reliable source of friendship and advice, The demon... person, whatever he was these days, came willing to my calm, soothing emotions floating over my mind in a calming manner.
Let me handle it. He insisted.
I.. he, we, however that works, grabbing Mirage by the arm, staring down into her eyes.
What is going on?

"Shut up you stupid Shade!" she shouted as she felt Daemon grab her arm. "I can't possibly still love him, not after all he's done to me." Daemon was looking into her eyes, and he was speaking to her, yet the voice wasn't fully his. "I don't know what's going on!" she yelled at him, more just to vent than out of anger. Now both voices were yelling at her to either calm down or kill him. "Just leave me alone, both of you! Can't I make up my own mind just this once!?"

I slapped her across the face, shaking her hard. That always seemed to help snap people out of their thoughts or... inner conversations with whatever demonic-like influences guided them.
You're going to tell me what's going on, or I'll force it out of you.
Don't hurt her!
Do you want this resolved?

Mirage gasped as Daemon slapped her. "I feel like I have two people arguing inside of my body! That's what's going on! And don't even think about slapping me again," she hissed. Mirage was really confused. This wasn't Daemon; this was someone else. "And if you don't mind me asking, what happened to Daemon?"

You f- Swear and I'll kill you, I've got an image to uphold. He glared off to the side, wishing he could give me the death stare. You freaked him out and mentally harmed him, so I'm taking over until things get cleared up and I know you aren't going to do any serious damage to my host and his body. I'm getting kind of fond of him, you know.
I growled out a response, releasing my grip on her arm. Two voices, eh? Wasn't exactly the normal kind of thing to deal with, but being so abnormal myself I was used to this kind of crap.

"Oh, so now I'm the one whose messing with peoples' minds?! He ruined my life. And I don't know how I feel about him. One minute I want to kill him, and the next I want to kiss him. And now I don't know who I am because I've got an Elf and a Shade yelling two completely different things at me all at the same time. And Daemon's demon is talking to me. I must be going insane!" Mirage groaned as she leaned against the wall and slumped to the ground. She rested her arms and head on her knees and looked up into Daemon's eyes. "This is a horrible day," she moaned exasperatedly.

ooc: ((Tanin is now yellow so you can read the text ^^)) You think THIS is a bad day? Oh, don't start now. I frowned down at her, caught between Daemon's desires and my own intuition. Experience told me to either leave her there to come to her own sense, or knock her around until she was unconscious and quiet, or stopped screwing around. Daemon told me he wasn't going to stand for that, and even in control, I felt bound by his wishes. Why bound?
Look, just take a breather. It's pretty obvious you've got a few problems here... I paused, searching through my mind for Daemon. He had an idea of what I was going to do, and was hiding himself. As if It would work. I touched on his fear, and smothered him with thought. He was unconscious, or mentally silent, in moments.
I leaned down, grabbing Mirage's shirt, pulling her up slightly as I leaned close to her ear. And let me tell you something, I don't want your demon harming Daemon. I don't want YOU harming him, or else I'll take you both out. Don't doubt that.
I released her, and regretfully noted Daemon was still silent. More time spent in this body, it seemed.

Mirage was shocked to say the least by how Daemon was acting. Whatever had taken over was a lot like what was taking her over, except somewhat concerned about his well being to some extent. "Look, I don't know what's gotten into me or Daemon. All I know is neither of us is who we used to be. I wasn't trying to hurt him, and they're not demons that are taking me over, they're something else."

I don't care what it is that's in your head, you just keep it controlled. Unlike Daemon, I wasn't a softy, I didn't go weak at the knees for a sob story or a sad look. In fact, I shouldn't have even been giving her this much lee-way, if I had my way, if this had been a battle, she'd be dead by now. She should be dead, I wanted her dead. Daemon had been denying me, those darker thoughts I offered him in his rage, but now he was quiet, and she was... defenseless.
I shuddered and leaned against he opposite wall, trying to appear unconcerned but alert.
If you can't deal with your own issues, maybe you should go. I reasoned for her, trying to drop a hint.
