Perro was starting to like the two. Between the woman's guts and Waefae's bossy attitude, he though he was going to have a lot of fun with them around. The sword pointed at his neck was completely ignored now. The werebeast leaned as he addressed Waefae, his neck dangerously touching the sword blade's tip. "Hey, don't kill her yet."

Waefae glared at Perro, but refused to answer him. Instead, he asked the woman, "Who are you and what are you doing in my forest?" For some reason, he still could not make himself break skin and draw blood. "Fine time to become a softy...," he mumbled under his breath, hoping no one would hear that last part.

With the man in front of her laughing, Selena knew that she could lower her sword. However, she didn’t fail to catch the “yet” at the end of his sentence, so she remained rigid. She thought of several responses to the question asked by the other man. Against her better judgement, she was slightly intrigued by him. She wasn’t bleeding, which meant that either she was of some value to him, or he knew something about her. She settled on an answer that would keep the conversation going. In all of the years she could remember, she had never found anyone that knew anything about her. For some reason, Selena had a feeling that this Waefae man could tell her something useful. She responded, “I wasn’t aware this forest belonged to anyone.”

Perro had stopped laughing and was watching the two with a grin. "Same thing I told him." he commented, now talking to the woman while he pointed at Waefae. The wizard was being more civil with the woman, though. Maybe it had to do with Perro talking too much.

Waefae was beyond frustrated by this point with the lack of discipline his guards were showing. The usual passerby was dead by this point. Every one knew that entering this forest was a bad idea unless you wanted to get killed by Waefae, didn't they? he thought to himself. And there was something about that girl that was so familiar.... he just couldn't place it. She looked like his dead sister, and he began to feel bad about threatening her. he sheathed his dagger. "Sorry about that," he said sheepishly as he took a step back from the woman. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?"

Selena felt the dagger retreat from her neck. How odd, she thought, I should be dead by now. She perhaps should have been thankful that she was still alive, but she was too confused to care. He was asking her name. She mentally flipped through her aliases, deciding which one to use. After a second’s hesitation, Selena lowered her sword, placed it in the sheath, and turned to stand face to face with the one named Waefae for the first time. “Selena.” She was surprised with herself for a second, but she did not allow her face to show it. For some reason, Selena had used her real name, or at least the one she was originally given, and she did not know why. There was something about the two men, something strange, that made her feel like she had to trust them to some degree. She fought this feeling, refusing to let her guard down completely.

"Selena"
Her introduction suddenly reminded him that he hadn't introduced himself yet. Waefae and the girl already gave their names, so why not? "And I'm Perro!" he cheerfully butted in.

Selena, where have I heard that name before? Waefae asked himself as he looked at the woman standing in front of him. However, now that the elemental was no longer in control, Waefae remembered his manners. He bowed and said, "Enchanted to meet you Miss Selena. Welcome to the Tektite Forest."

Waefae's comment and his sudden spurt of manners surprised Selena more than anything else that had happened in the last few minutes. However, she was not able to fish the same manners out of herself. She looked from Waefae to the one now known as Perro, wondering if either or both of them were raving mad, and gave a quick "Hm."

Perro stared at Waefae, and then glanced at Selena. And then back at Waefae. Ooooooooooh. Does he like her? Either that, or it was the complete opposite--he was going to get rid of her really soon. It was really hard to tell. Continuing with that train of thought as if the woman could tell what he was thinking, he lightly poked her with a finger, careful not to pierce her with his claw. "Either way, be careful around him." he whispered with a toothy grin.

It wasn't quite the reaction he had hoped for, but at least she hadn't slapped him. He offered her his arm so that he could escort her back to the borders of Tektite Forest. "I'll escort you to the borders of the woods so that none of my guards try and kill you. That is unless you want to go to the fortress...." He didn't want her to leave, and he didn't want anyone to hurt her either. Waefae found her fascinating and was trying to figure out where he knew her from, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Selena continued to stare at Waefae. The way she saw it, she had a few choices: she could accept his arm, go to the edge of the woods, and leave, which was something she didn't really want to do. She could turn and run, which, even though she usually didn't have a lot of concern about things like that, would be really stupid. Or she could go to the fortress, wherever that was. This last option was slightly more appealing than the other two. If she stayed, she could find out the reason behind his merciful behavior. Something about him and this entire situation made her curious. "The fortress, please," she said, not taking his arm. She didn't know why she added a 'please,' but it sounded good at the time. Hey, if she was going to put her fate in the hands of these two men, she might as well be polite as well as stupid.

Perro was in a much better mood indeed, and if he'd been in his dog form right then his tail would be wagging excitedly. As it was, he had a silly grin on his face. He hadn't seen any large enough prey in those woods yet, and he had a feeling it would take a while to hunt for himsef. A fortress meant food, readily served. And Perro was hungry.

Waefae continued to walk along beside Selena. He found himself looking into her eyes and getting lost in them. They looked so familiar.... and so pretty....

As she walked, Selena could feel eyes on her. She knew whose they were; Waefae seemed to have a slight problem with staring...they'd have to work on that. It made her uncomfortable as she rather liked staying away from people, being stared at was new to her and she didn't like it. In fact, she didn't like this entire situation. She didn't interact with people unless they were a target or an employer, and she certainly didn't stay with people for more than a few minutes. She wasn't sure what was keeping her here, but she blamed it on insanity.
