I reached behind me to pat Cat on the head twice, all of my insults toward him forgotten, and then gathered my dark hair and brought it to the other side of my shoulder. I worked my hands through it, untangling slowly and wringing out the water.
It was quiet. Awkward. Some people could walk in a companionable silence, but not me. That was never me. "You never told me why you came to Mulosia in the first place," I said to Runa, blinking as an owl flew over the moon.

Runa looked away, thinking wheither to tell or not. It didn't matter, after all... "I was running from someone...or rather something. I won't go into the details, their not importaint." Runa said quetly, she quickly looked at Kasandra. "Switching onto a better subject."

The corner of my mouth pulled into a smile that lacked enthusiasm. More like a smirk. I shrugged, looking straight ahead and putting my hands on the straps of my pack. "We'll be out of Mulosia in two days at the most," I offered her.

Runa shruged. "I'm not in a hurry, we can slow down." She said cheerfuly. What was wrong with her? Runa was rerely cheerful...Why is she suddenly so cheery, and smily and the one that mosly holds back. Kasandra was probly messing with her mind.

I glanced behind me, scowling briefly at Runa. Just because she wans't in a hurry didn't mean I wasn't. Cat paced across my back, stepping lightly on the pack so he could make it to my other shoulder. I reached up and scratched him behind the ears, moving my fingers down to tickle him beneath his chin.
"You always go on adventures with random strangers?" I asked Runa, putting my hand back on my side. Cat purred, rubbing his head against my own.

"Actualy this would be my first one. I am mostly either running away from something, or trying to get to a sertain place. Never got the oprotunity to travel at free will.'' Runa said, with just slight notes of sharpness.

"Hm," I grunted, not bothering to sound interested.
"Mind if we camp down for the night?" I asked her. It had been a day or two since I'd gotten any sleep, and I was eager to rest and relax. And it was dark anyway.

"No." Runa shook her head and looked around for the best spot, when she didn't find one she looked down. "How about here?" She wouldn't mind some sleep eather.

It was sort of out in the open, but it wasn't like we were running from anything. At least... I wasn't. Not now. Runa, apparently, was, though. Or that's what she told me.
So it wasn't my life I was risking by sleeping out in the open. "Looks fine," I said with a shrug. It was really no different than what we had just trekked through, but probably my favorite place to sleep. Hard ground padded down my tall grass.
I kneeled down, slipping my pack off my shoulders and easing it onto the ground. I could have used a bedroll for more comfort, but I chose not to. Instead, I allowed Cat to jump off my shoulder. I picked him up, murmured a few things in his ears, then plopped him back on the ground and lay down, the grass tickling my face. The moon was an omniscent eye, protecting me, bathing me in blue light.
This was what I had come for.

Runa took her clock off and spred it on the ground. Though she stood for a moment to see if there was anyone around Runa fell asleep as soon as she layed down. She had a strange dream in which she and some shadow person who seemed oddly familiar were running through the fields. It was home...Or it seemed like it, though it was all so bright and unusial...as a fainted memory brought back.

I closed my eyes, preparing for sleep. Taking a deep breath, my mind was carried away, sunk into a cozy darkness that I welcomed. I slept dreamlessly that night.
I awoke the next morning feeling something heavy on my back. Opening my eyes lazily, I saw that I had rolled over in the night on my stomach and Cat was stretched out across my back. Scowling, I propped myself up on my elbows, disturbing him slightly. My eyes still felt heavy as I glanced over to see Runa was still sleeping.
I glanced up at the skies. Judging by the proximity of the sun, I had just missed sunrise. Groaning, I shoved Cat off of me and rolled over, stretching. Maybe sleeping on the ground hadn't been such a great idea.

Runa opend up her eyes. "Good morning, I see you woke up." Runa smiled at her, and got up. "Ready for some breakfast?" She asked cheerfuly.

I shook my head, rubbing my eyes. "Maybe later," I grumbled. My muscles still felt tight, so I quickly morphed into cat form and stretched myself across the ground, tail flicking. I unleashed a large yawn, my fangs glinting, and watced Cat dart off to hunt.
My green eyes flashed as they slowly turned on Runa. I peered at her, feeling more comfortable in my cat form.

Runa sat down and looked down at the cat. "You know what? I suggest you stay in this form, you look cuter annd more lively." She began laughing.

I had to resort to body language to express my displeasure, flattening my large ears and opening my mouth to exhale a soft hiss, following by a threatening growl. Maybe that would stop her laughter.
I flipped over on my back, stretching out once more before pausing. My ears caught something. I was quickly back on all fours, trying to pinpoint the direction. Maybe it was just a mouse, though.
Did Runa hear it? My eyes flickered over to her to check.
