Runa lifted her eyes to the sky, she was worn, tired. Anyone would be from such a journey. Bringing her thoughts back to earth Runa colapsed into the soft grass of the meadow. True she was open to anyone's eyes if they passed by, it didn't matter not at this point. It's always watching, and so are they, never caring about anything but their prey. And she was one of them. An outsider, in their land...The'll hunt down, the'll kill me...I don't belong. Her thoughts were interupted by a russle of the grass some yards away.

I stopped, one paw raised, my eyes widening as they soaked in the moon's light, advancing my own sight. Should I return to my human form? My tail flicked slowly as I tested the air with my nose, curling my lip as I smelled the tangy scent of human flesh and a dash of sweat. My wet teeth glinted in the darkness, and I could hear Cat wandering silently a few feet away from me. In my feline form, I was no longer his master, but his friend; if anything, he had authority over me now. I wasn't as experienced in this particular form.
Only after I saw the woman did it strike me it might be best not to disturb her. And by then, it had been too late; I had caused enough noise to make her start. Great. Just great.
I didn't know who this girl was, but I was never good with people. My muscles itched to run, but I wouldn't dare move; it would only induce more noise, more alarm. I stayed in my place, hoping that if the girl decided to venture to meet her intruder, she would think nothing of the harmless black cat innocently ambling through the grass that I was.

Runa's eyes quickly churned to the direction of the disruption, searching the area. Her red eyes stoped on the black cat frozen in place. She reached for one of her knifes getting ready to attack if needed. "You say your inocent?" Runa asked slowly, glaring at the black cat. "Then why do you wish for me not to know you're there?" By this point Runa was up on her knees ready to flee or attack if needed.

Trust no one.
That was what I had been taught when I had joined the Sanguine Revenge. They explained it as their law, and I treated it as mine as well; the only rule, they said.
I used my advanced sight and tried to find a tattoo on the base of her neck, maybe a gem around her neck that would mark her as a fellow Suedo. Slowly, very slowly, my bones took new shape, flesh and muscle molding around them. I was kneeling on the ground when I had fully taken my original human shape, filling my human lungs with fresh air. I stood, dusting the dirt off my black breeches.
"Because I trust no one," I returned to her, fingering the gem around my throat. I knew that if she was fellow Suedo, she would recognize the emphasis I put on the last three words. Cat stared at the woman as well, clearly anticipating her reply as if he understood the situation.

Runa smiled. "We have that in common." Though her voice was cold and still sharp. She got up and observed the girl. Runa's hand still rested on one of the knifes, but you could tell she relaxed a bit. This girl was no match for her. Trust no one? I've heard those words before...a wile back in time...

I paused, not knowing what to do. Her answer could have been interpreted many ways. But none of them were certain. So I went for the more cautious path. "I've never seen you here before," I accused her, narrowing my eyes at her. I took one of my hands and lethargically placed it on my hip, motioning for Cat to come closer with the other.

Runa smiled. Let's play your game. Shull we? "No, need of acusations. Just because you haven't seen me around doens't mean anything. Forinasi's big, Isn't it?" She raised one of her eyebrows in a questioning gesture. Though her eyes were still pretty cold, there was a tiny almost bearly noticible twinkle of amusement.

Cat padded his way over to greet me, rubbing up against my leg protectively. Normally, I would have shoved him away. But this time, I relaxed at his familiar touch. "Maybe so," I admitted with a shrug.
"But I meant Mulosia. I come here often to relax. And I've never seen you here before." I pointed at the ground to show her what I meant.
What an idiot I must have sounded like.

"Oh, that...No, I'm here for the first time. Traveled down here from the North." Runa's face was surprisingly streight, as if she had no emotion but that tiny growing twinkle. By now she fully relaxed.

((ooc: *eeps* ...yeah. I only just realized I was posting through ailiana just then. *shifty eyes* ...my bad.))
I mentally flashed back to the woman lying on her back in the grass, her breath ragged. My brow shot up in an exaggerated manner. "Running from someone?" I questioned, rocking my weight to another leg.

(Good point...)
Runa thought for a moment. "Nah, just having my nightly exercise." She said sarcasticly. It's not like Runa could let this girl know.

Maybe it was the sarcasm practically dripping from her voice that made that hard to believe. In any case, I only shrugged, kneeling down to pick up Cat and return to my quiet nature. His weight in my arms helped me relax a bit more.
Was I supposed to tell her to leave or what? I remained silent, though. That was what made me different from most people. I was fine with awkward pauses.

"Do you wish me to leave?" She aked as in the answer to the girl's thoughts.

I frowned at the girl. I didn't like having my thoughts read, to be honest. I had met a few other people like this upon occasion. They weren't exactly fun to have conversations with, considering they knew what you were going to say before you said it and what you preferred not to say. She could try to hide it, but I knew this stranger was a mind reader.
"You're fine," I said. "I guess my social skills just aren't the best."
And there I was, trying to be open and... nice or whatever. Quite a new concept for me, I had to say.

Runa nodded in acnoledgement. "Neather am I. Though there was once a time...But never mind that." She smiled. "I'm Runa by the way."
